Quote: CLAIM: In January 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that the 1867 sale of Alaska to the United States was "illegal." RATING:False About this rating In 1867, the United States bought Alaska from the Russian Empire, significantly expanding its territory. Fast forward to January 2024: Amid Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine and U.S. support for Ukraine, a rumor surfaced online. It claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the 1867 sale of Alaska "illegal." For instance, one Reddit post on the topic read, "Putin stokes tensions with US, declares 1867 sale of Alaska 'illegal.'" Moreover, social media users shared an alleged document signed by Putin, claiming that the sale of Alaska was not legitimate. < "Putin signed an order insinuating the sale of Alaska to the United States in 1867 was illegitimate. This mofo is trolling the West and our leaders shake in their boots in response," a post on X with the alleged official document read.
Quote: We found that the rumor was also spread on TikTok. Our research indicated that the rumor originated from an article published on Jan. 21, 2024, by essanews.com website with the title, "Putin stokes tensions with US, declares 1867 sale of Alaska 'illegal.'" It read: Interestingly, Vladimir Putin appears to have rethought the sale of Alaska to the Americans. It's not a joke: he's trying to give the impression that his influence extends not only to his country's future events but also plans to rewrite the past. Therefore, he signed a decree rendering the sale of Alaska illegal. It is true that on Jan. 18, 2024, Putin signed a decree pertaining to the management of Russian Federation property abroad. A copy of it was shared on an official website of the Russian government, labeled as follows (we translated it using Google Translate): Order of the President of the Russian Federation dated January 18, 2024 No. 21-rp (On determining the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Enterprise for Property Management Abroad" of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation as the recipient of a subsidy for financial support of costs) We used Google Translate to ascertain what the decree itself stated, in English: (Google Translate) The document did not, according to this translation, mention Alaska at any point, or state that Alaska or any other territory formerly owned by Russia was sold "illegally." On Jan. 19, 2024, the Russian state-owned news agency TASS published a report on the decree, titled, "Russia to allocate funds for search of Soviet, Imperial Russian property abroad." It informed that Russia would allocate funds for an effort to "find, register and ensure legal protection of Russia’s property abroad, including property of the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire." The article continued (emphasis ours): A relevant decree, signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will allocate funds for the purpose to the Department of Foreign Property of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. The funds will be allocated to cover expenses related to "the process of searching the real estate property owned by the Russian Federation, the former Russian Empire, the former USSR," as well as for "due registration of [property] rights" and "legal protection of this property." Another decree allocates funds to cover the department’s expenses for maintaining and using Russia’s federal property abroad. Again, the TASS article did not mention any reference to Alaska in the decree. In sum, given that the decree signed by Putin did not declare that the 1867 sale of Alaska was "illegal" — or indeed mention Alaska at all — we have rated this claim as False.

Gregg Abbott, the whiny cripple in a wheelchair, barking about? I quote him: "The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV. § 4" What does that part of Constitution say? This: Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence. https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/articleiv If the Constitution is important to Gov Abbott, he cannot wait until Trump is President in January 20, 2025. If Gov Gregg Abbott was not a pantywaist, he'd today order the Texas Rangers to kill any children they see illegally crossing the border. The adults would get the message and go back their original countries, wherever that is. But Abbott won't because he is a coward afraid of a grand jury charging him with murder for hire. If murder is Abbott's problem, maybe he could wound them with a mere flesh wound, or throw dirt in their little faces, or yell at them to stay off his lawn.

Quote:`Ukraine's security agency [I woonder if they lied back then as much as they do now??] has claimed that they have intercepted phone calls between Russian military officers and pro-Russian separatists with the rebels claiming responsibility for shooting down a Malaysian plane killing all 298 people on board, a media report said on Friday. The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flight MH17 was blown up over Eastern Ukraine by a sophisticated BAK surface-to-air missile believed to be fired by pro-Russia rebels. One of the calls apparently was made at 4.40 pm Kiev time, or 20 minutes after the plane crash, by a separatist identified as Igor Bezler, to a separatist commander and Russian intelligence officer Vasili Geranin, the Kyiv Post reported. In the transcript released by Ukraine's security agency SBU, Bezler says: “We have just shot down a plane. It fell down beyond Yenakievo (Donetsk Oblast)." "The plane fell apart in the air. In the area of Petropavlovskaya mine. The first 200. We have found the first 200 - a civilian," Major says, referring to the codeword for a dead person, it said. The second intercepted signal was apparently between militants codenamed "Major" and "Greek" immediately upon inspection of the crash site. "It's 100 per cent a passenger (civilian) aircraft," Major is recorded as saying, as he admitted to seeing no weapons on site. "Absolutely nothing. Civilian items, medicinal stuff, towels, toilet paper," according to the transcript. The paper also posted part of a third conversation between "Cossack commander Nikolay Kozitsin" and an unidentified militant. "They say on TV it's AN-26 transport plane, but they say it's written Malaysia Airlines on the plane. What was it doing on Ukraine's territory?" Kozitsin replies: "That means they were carrying spies. They shouldn't be f***ing flying. There is a war going on." Military analysts have speculated that militants mistook the passenger jet for a military aircraft.

Signym, you are a special kind of person. Had much trouble during your life? It is your specialness that attracts woe. The Russians have that same quality and it has attracted historic amounts of trouble for them. It sticks to them and it is almost impossible to scrape off. BTW I see you're still posting lies. You have never understood that Russia's problems are caused by Russians. Obviously, there will be external problems, but the Russian response to such problems has been, shall we say, suboptimal which is why Russia is poor compared to the EU. It is also why North Korea, Russia's protege, is poor compared to South Korea, America's protege. A quick check of recent news shows that South Korea is being militarily threatened by North Korea which follows Russia's habitual ways of confronting its problems by threatening the neighbors. Putin further falsely claimed that Russia’s full-scale invasion was a “response to [Ukraine’s] use of armed force” after Ukraine “started the war in Donbas in 2014” and that Russia had to “protect [its] interests.”

They first denied it happened, then claimed it was "staged" because there were no bodies. Well, somebody published a gruesome video of a body part found on the scene: the upper right hand approximately quarter of what used to be a person. (If you want to know what a body looks like after getting blown apart and falling tens of thouands of feet, I can post a link. Let me just say that it was like a bag of skin with everything inside having been "splatted" out, the head looking like something that had been set in a two ton press. I've never seen anything like it before. But the part that remained was fully identifiable by the tattoos on its "arm".)
