Fuck 2020 Democrats.
Brainwashed fucking idiots and liars, the entire lot of them.

SECOND: 6ix, you have always been a perfectly natural fit for the Republican Party. Vote for Trump since he gives your life meaning that it never before had! Be what you always were meant to be.

SIX: I'm not a Republican. I've leaned far closer to being a Democrat than I ever have leaned Republican.
I will vote for Trump again.
But there's no need to give him any more credit for things he doesn't deserve. Voting for Trump brings no sense of meaning to my life.
Trump didn't drag me out of alcoholism. I did that on my own. No 12 step program, no group chat with "God" necessary.
I give my life purpose. And I've got plenty of good to do before I'm gone. For myself, and for the circle of people I care about.

I'm not the one of the two of us who has wrapped every fiber of his being around his political ideology.
That would be you, buddy.
Get some help.

No kidding! There are,
/were, people here whose souls seem to wrapped around ideology. It bends their minds and warps their view of reality.

I will never be in a room with Putin or with 6ix, so I can't know who you two really are, but I do know who you tell the world you are, and I sincerely doubt you are truthful. Tell any stories you two want about yourselves to make you feel good. The Russians are reliving those glorious days of WWII by killing Nazis in Ukraine. But from what I see happening in Ukraine, this is Russia at its worst, not best. 6ix, if you think you are doing great, well, super-duper for you, but from what I see you are not.

Dude... What could I possibly be lying about?

This place has basically been my online journal for the world to see if it wanted to, warts and all. And there are a LOT of warts here. So many warts...

Years worth of my sanity slipping as I nearly lost myself to my addictions. This place basically being the toilet for all of my demons, mostly I assume to spare what few friends and family members who still gave a shit about me the burden of well... Me.

You know about how I lost most of my teeth. You know that I even pulled two of them out myself with pliers I sterilized in rubbing alcohol, and how I failed miserably on a third one and my dentist did me a huge solid by staying late that night to get me in so I didn't spend all night punching holes through my walls after that went south.

Am I perfect now? Far from it. But I'm a lot better than I was, and I'm making an effort to always be better than I was before.

You want to talk about telling stories? The only things I know about you are about how fucking awesome you are and how every thought you have is the right one, every decision you've made is the smart one, and how you've never made a single mistake in your life... all because you're a Democrat.

THIS is why nobody believes anything you say about yourself. Your persona here doesn't have a human being behind it. It is a construct. Nothing more than a mere ideal of what you think you want to be and what you wish you were.

Second is a poorly written character.

Like I've said many, many, many times before... I have money in the bank. A paid for house. A paid for car. Zero debt. Zero interest. There's almost nothing that can break on me that I can't fix for pennies on the dollar to what a professional would charge, and I'm always learning new things because I have the time, tools and intelligence to figure these things out.

I don't know if you're doing great, good or shitty. I know nothing about the real you. Nobody here does. Second is a figment of some random online person's imagination.

Well... Not completely random. I know what your IP address was with the date on it.

The Meaning of the Plunging Euro
July 15, 2022, 2:01 p.m. ET

euro dollar exchange rate
https://www.google.com/search?q=euro+dollar+exchange+rate

It’s a bit simplified, but not that far from the truth, to say that over the past couple of decades Europe — especially Germany, the core of the Continent’s economy — has tried to build prosperity on two pillars: cheap natural gas from Russia and, to a lesser extent, exports of manufactured goods to China.

One of these pillars is completely gone, thanks to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

The other pillar is crumbling, as the Chinese economy stumbles, partly because of erratic policies in the face of Covid-19, and also as Chinese human rights violations make dealing with its regime increasingly toxic.

So Europe has a problem, and the weak euro may be a symptom of that problem.

Now, Europe’s economy isn’t going to sink into the abyss. We’re talking about incredibly sophisticated, competent economies that are technologically fully on the same level as America. Given time, they should be able to find a way to do without Russian gas and to reduce their reliance on Chinese markets.

But for now they’re stuck in a bad place, largely because their political leaders — especially in Germany — refused to acknowledge that the problem with autocratic regimes China and Russia isn’t just that they do evil things, it is that they aren’t trustworthy. Europe is now paying the price for that willful blindness, and the weak euro is a symptom of that price.

The War in Ukraine Is the True Culture War

With Russia trying to erase Ukraine’s national identity, the fight to preserve, and build upon, Ukraine’s artistic heritage has taken on new urgency.

For President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, there is no Ukraine as such; he maintains that Ukraine is a Soviet fiction, that the Ukrainian language is a Russian dialect, that Russians and Ukrainians are “one people.” And so since February — indeed, since 2014, when the war first began in the east of Ukraine — cultural manifestations of Ukrainian independence have been directly in the cross hairs.

Why would an art critic go into a war zone? Why should anyone care about a painting when cruise missiles are overhead? Because “this is a war about cultural identity,” said the curator Leonid Maruschak — one of so many writers, musicians and scholars who make no distinction between the survival of Ukraine’s people and land and the survival of its history and ideas. With Russia actively trying to erase Ukraine’s national identity, this country’s music, literature, movies and monuments are not recreations. They are battlefields.

“You see how many historical fake justifications there are in the Russian motivation for this war,” the philosopher Anton Drobovych, one of Ukraine’s brightest young scholars, said near his barracks on an island in the Dnipro River. “History is no less important than the army,” he said. “If I felt that it was less important, I would deal only with my anti-tank affairs.”

Mr. Drobovych described Ukraine’s culture as an explicit military asset. “It is contagious, and it spreads to the rest of the world. It seems that this truth and justice, which is violated, simply explodes in people who create art. And I think that’s a huge part of why we’re going to win this war.”

In cultural terms the war here is brutally old-fashioned. It’s a straight-up imperial war, and it’s turned contemporary Ukrainian culture into an archival enterprise — one in which preservation is everyone’s job, and new creations are rooted in history the enemy would deny. The exhibition “Crucified Ukraine,” at a museum in the shadow of Kyiv’s stainless steel Motherland Monument, includes exacting replications of three underground shelters that housed 120 Ukrainians for more than a month this winter. Film archivists have become experts in explosion risks, and librarians are digitizing Soviet-era photographs that were spirited out of Mariupol at the last minute. Heritage authorities are tracing monuments with 3-D scanners, creating a record in case they need to be rebuilt.

Lviv, an hour from the Polish border, has become a hub for displaced people and displaced culture, too. Viktoriya Sadova has been showing new arrivals to the city around the memorial museum in Lonsky Prison, which was a Polish, then a Nazi, then a Soviet detention center. (She became the museum’s acting director after the war began on Feb. 24, and its regular leader was drafted.) Visitors from the occupied cities of Mariupol and Kherson scrutinize the exhibits of Soviet repression of Ukrainian partisans, and recognize the traumas immediately. “Eighty years have gone but nothing has changed,” she said. “We still have the same occupant.”

Russia defends submarine missile attack that killed 23 civilians

Moscow claims Kalibr missiles hit Ukraine air force meeting.

Russia justified a missile attack that killed 23 civilians on the central Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia, claiming its submarine-launched missiles had targeted a meeting of Ukrainian air force commanders and representatives of Western arms suppliers.

The attack was the latest in a series of Russian attacks in recent weeks using long-range missiles on crowded buildings in cities far from the front, each killing dozens of people.

Russia’s defence ministry said on Friday that its Kalibr sea-based missiles, launched from a Russian submarine in the Black Sea, targeted the Ukrainian military.

“At the time of the strike, a meeting of the command of the Ukrainian Air Force with representatives of foreign arms suppliers was held,” the Russian defence ministry said.

“As a result of the strike, the participants of the meeting were destroyed,” the ministry said, claiming the meeting had focused on supplies of jets and weapons as well as repair of Ukraine’s aircraft.

Following an initial silence after the attacks on Vinnytsia, Russia’s Ministry of Defence said Friday that its forces had attacked an “officers’ club” in the city – in Soviet times, the city’s concert hall that was hit was considered to be an officers’ club.

Meanwhile, who actually was killed? Not who the Russians say!

Among the dead was Liza, a four-year-old girl with Down’s Syndrome, found in the debris next to her stroller. Images of her pushing the same stroller, posted by her mother on a blog less than two hours before the attack, quickly went viral.

Liza’s severely injured mother, Iryna Dmitrieva, was being kept in an information blackout at a hospital for fear that finding out about her daughter would kill her, doctors said.

“She is suffering from burns, chest injuries, abdominal injuries, liver and spleen injuries. We have stitched the organs together, the bones were crushed as if she went through a meat grinder,” Oleksandr Fomin, chief doctor at the Vinnytsia Emergency Hospital, said on Friday.

Were she told of her daughter’s death, “we would lose her,” the doctor said.

Vinnytsia’s Governor Serhiy Borzov said only 10 people among the dead had been identified so far.

“Russia deliberately hit civilians and all those responsible for the crime must be brought to account,” he said, denouncing the “barbaric behaviour” of Russian forces.

But if they're in Ukraine we send them heavy weapons.

You forgot to mention that the amendment passed in a 218–208 vote where it faced unilateral opposition from Republicans. Per the Republicans, there are no, none, not one Neo-Nazis in the military or police, but it just so happens that there are many Neo-Nazis in the military and police.

Signym, you have a sense of humor! Congratulations! I read something very funny that might make you laugh:

The dehumanization of the Ukrainians was completed in early April, when Novosti, a state-run website, published an article arguing that the “deNazification” of Ukraine would require the “liquidation” of the Ukrainian leadership, and even the erasure of the very name of Ukraine, because to be Ukrainian was to be a Nazi: “Ukrainianism is an artificial anti-Russian construct, which does not have any civilizational content of its own, and is a subordinate element of a foreign and alien civilization.” The existential threat was made clear on the eve of the war, when Putin reprised a decade’s worth of propaganda about the perfidious West, using language familiar to Russians: “They sought to destroy our traditional values and force on us their false values that would erode us, our people from within, the attitudes they have been aggressively imposing on their countries, attitudes that are directly leading to degradation and degeneration, because they are contrary to human nature.”

Oh come off of it.

The Legacy Media had started the process of splitting this country in two and having both sides dehumanize each other since 2008 and ramped that effort up to insanity during the 2016 election... and it's only gotten worse from there.

Nobody gives one single shit about Ukraine. Not even you. You're just doing what your told because that's what your side of the Media is telling you to do. Hell even on the FOX News side of the spectrum they've got the pro-war, right-leaning dildos behaving just like you.

Wheres all your outrage for the Somali's? Where are the half-dozen threads about "America Supports Somalia" that have over 1000 posts in the RWED?

They're not here, because while you don't give a shit about them either, you don't have the Legacy Media telling you every day that you do.

The split didn't start in 2008. Before Rush Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump, Rush had been telling Republicans that Democrats are evil. My brother-in-law has all of Rush's books going 30 years back to the first one. My in-law shared those books with his younger brother. In-law and younger brother hated, absolutely hated, everything connected to Democrats. Their father hated Democrats, too, with the hellish Heat from another Sun. East Texans have hated Democrats at least since the Vietnam War, decades before Rush Limbaugh wrote his first book, because some Democrats were reminding people that American soldiers were massacring South Vietnamese civilians. It just so happens, that was a hard truth that Republicans didn't believe.

There is a chance that a million Russians will get killed as happened in two wars with Finland and the Siege of Leningrad, in which Finland played a major role. If little Finland can kill off a million Russians, then Ukraine might be able to kill a million, too. The Finns were extremely persistent but it took years for them to kill their first million Russians because Finland did not have a supply of ammo from the EU, UK and USA. Luckily, Ukraine has the advantage that Finland didn't. Good to have friends with ammo.

At any time the Russians can leave Ukraine and go back to their good old life. The situation is not symmetrical. The Ukrainians cannot leave and go back to their good old life. Ukrainians will have to clean up after the Russians have wrecked Ukraine. The cost is about $US 750 billion to Ukrainians. So far. Who deserves more sympathy? The Russians who are wrecking Ukraine? Or the Ukrainians who will rebuild after the Russian wrecking crews leave?

The truth is that Russians are crazy: If You Punish Russia, We Might Just Nuke All of You.

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s powerful Security Council, doubled down on comments he made in St. Petersburg last month in an unhinged tirade against the U.S. on Telegram early Wednesday. Calling proposals to prosecute Russia for war crimes “legally void,” he said any attempts to do so “potentially threaten the existence of mankind.” “The idea of punishing a country that has major nuclear potential is absurd in itself,” he wrote, before launching into a rant against the “idiot” U.S. Citing America’s history of “senseless wars,” Medvedev appeared to argue that Russia should not be held to account for slaughtering thousands of civilians in Ukraine because the U.S. military did the same in Vietnam, Syria, and Afghanistan, among other countries. “So who is it that’s planning to arrange a show trial for us?… This will not work with Russia,” he declared, before going on to direct a citation from the Book of Revelations at the U.S.: “For the great day of his wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

Well, you asked.

I didn't ask. I'm telling you the only way the Ukraine War ends well would be the same way as Russia's two wars with Finland. Every Russian soldier inside Ukraine is a prisoner, a casualty, a corpse, or fleeing. There is only one way for that to happen:

Putin is already at war with Europe. There is only one way to stop him

He has weaponised food, energy and refugees, spreading economic and political pain across the continent. Sanctions don’t work, a land for peace deal would be a disaster. Only the military route remains.

The idea the Ukraine conflict could be confined to Ukraine – Nato’s politically convenient grand delusion – and that western sanctions and arms supplies would stop the Russians was always a nonsense. Now, enraged by Kyiv’s stubborn resistance and hell-bent on punishing his punishers, Putin’s aim is the immiseration of Europe.

By weaponising energy, food, refugees and information, Russia’s leader spreads the economic and political pain, creating wartime conditions for all. A long, cold, calamity-filled European winter of power shortages and turmoil looms. And like a coin-fed gas meter, the price of western leaders’ timidity and shortsightedness ticks upwards by the hour.

Russia’s destabilisation operations, social media manipulation, cyber-attacks, diplomatic double-talk, nuclear blackmail, plus its unrelenting slaughter of civilians in Ukraine, will only intensify Europe’s state of siege in the months ahead. The west’s fanciful belief it could avoid continent-wide escalation is evaporating fast.

Though not entirely due to Putin’s war, Europe now faces fundamental challenges as big or bigger than the 2008 financial crash, Brexit, or the pandemic. Yet many EU and UK politicians skulk in denial. If, as predicted, the gas stops flowing and the lights dim, it will not just be a matter of closed factories, lost jobs, and depressed markets.

Freezing pensioners, hungry children, empty supermarket shelves, unaffordable cost of living increases, devalued wages, strikes and street protests point to Sri Lanka-style meltdowns. An exaggeration? Not really. Blowback, fanned by the Putin-admiring far right, is already gathering strength in Greece and Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.

In prospect, too, is a shattering of EU solidarity as national governments compete for scarce resources. Brussels is due to publish a “winter preparedness plan” this week. But its provisions are unclear and unenforceable. The broader context is lack of an agreed, implemented EU-wide energy policy.

Despite bilateral cooperation pledges, a total Russian cut-off could pit country against country, further inflate prices, and split the anti-Moscow coalition. In such a scenario Putin would demand sanctions relief in return for resumed supplies, just as he has over blockaded Black Sea grain.

Import-dependent Germany is already taking unilateral steps, seeking alternative oil and gas suppliers. A national emergency moved closer after Moscow turned off the Nord Stream I pipeline last Monday. Many in Berlin fear (and some environmentalists hope) the shutdown – and any subsequent rationing – may become permanent.

Robert Habeck, Germany’s vice-chancellor, fretted publicly about a “political nightmare”. Bruno Le Maire, France’s finance minister, sounded similarly panicky last week. He predicted an imminent gas cut-off. Waxing Napoleonic, he urged European countries to form up in “order of battle”. But as in 1812, Russia has “General Winter”.

As if the mounting misery of millions were not daunting enough, then consider, too, the war’s knock-on impact on efforts to combat the climate and biodiversity crises. In the UK and elsewhere, net zero targets appear at increasing risk of being abandoned.

Because Europe faces “very, very strong conflict and strife” this winter over energy prices, it should make a short-term return to fossil fuels, Frans Timmermans, the European commission’s vice-president, suggested. Once again, Germany is showing a lead, increasing electricity production from coal-fired power stations. Once again, the west looks to tyrannical Gulf oil sheikhs for salvation.

A European winter of chaos may also strain US ties. By comparison, America’s post-pandemic recovery is more advanced, its economy more resilient, its energy costs much lower. Yet it is US president Joe Biden’s too-cautious leadership of Nato that has led Europe into this geopolitical cul-de-sac, even as a weakening euro slides below one dollar.

For Europeans, as they are re-learning to their cost, all wars are local. For Americans, as ever, all wars are foreign.

The sanctions, economic aid, and other non-military measures preferred by Biden were never going to be enough to bring Putin to heel. Some observers suspect a stalemate that slowly bleeds Russia suits US purposes, whatever the collateral damage. Yet right now, it’s Putin who is bleeding Europe. Sanctions are backfiring or poorly enforced. His energy coffers bulge. And Ukrainians aside, the pain is disproportionately felt by less wealthy European and developing countries. As instability grows, US-Europe divergence will feed pressure to change course.

The obvious escape route is a land-for-peace deal with Putin, agreed over Ukraine’s dead bodies. This kind of shoddy sellout has influential advocates. If (and it’s a big “if”), Russia returned to business as normal, it would alleviate Europe’s suffering – though probably not Ukraine’s.

Yet such a deal would also be a precedent-setting disaster for future peace and security across the continent and globally, too. Just think Taiwan. Or Estonia. It would destroy the sovereign integrity of democratic Ukraine.

Fortunately, there is an alternative: using Nato’s overwhelming power to decisively turn the military tide.

As previously argued here, direct, targeted, forceful western action to repulse Russia’s repulsive horde is not a vote for a third world war. It’s the only feasible way to bring this escalating horror to a swift conclusion while ensuring Putin, and those who might emulate him, do not profit from lawless butchery.

Intent on inflicting maximum disruption, Putin openly menaces the heartlands of European democracy. The writing is on the wall and may no longer be ignored. Enough of the half-measures and the dithering! Nato should act now to force Putin’s marauding troops back inside Russia’s recognised borders.

It’s not only Ukraine that requires saving. It’s Europe, too.

That first girlfriend from the solid family home was a sweetheart. I was the one who got bored of that. I'd say that dumping her was one of the worst mistakes of my life, but that would be a lie. It was probably the nicest thing anybody ever did for her.

The West Worries Too Much About Escalation in Ukraine

NATO Can Do More Without Provoking Moscow

https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/ukraine/2022-07-12/west-worrie
s-too-much-about-escalation-ukraine

As the world looks on while Ukrainians fight for their lives and their freedom, many feel a burning desire to do more to support them. The problem is not a lack of forces or resources—it is fear of provoking a wider, perhaps nuclear, war with Russia. That fear is why U.S. President Joe Biden and other NATO leaders have consistently made clear that they will not intervene directly in the conflict, instead limiting their help to weapons, money, intelligence, and sanctions. As devastating as events in Ukraine are today, a nuclear war with Russia could kill more people than Ukraine’s entire population of roughly 44 million.

NATO leaders understand that they must walk this fine line between aiding Ukraine and risking war with Russia, but they have no theory of how to do it. The German and French governments hem and haw about whether to provide Ukraine with tanks. When Poland proposed a plan to transfer MiG-29 fighter aircraft to Ukraine, the United States refused. U.S. Defense Department spokesperson John Kirby warned that it “raises serious concerns for the entire NATO alliance” and therefore was not “tenable.” Yet the United States was already shipping Javelin antitank missiles and Stinger surface-to-air missiles. Soon after, it began sending other weapons, including M777 howitzers and now HIMARS multiple rocket launchers. What is the difference? Those weapons do more to strengthen Ukraine’s combat power than MiG-29s, so the theory cannot be that Russia reacts more strongly to policies that do more harm to its interests. Why, then, missiles and artillery but not planes? The answer is that there is no answer. It is simply arbitrary.

NATO needs a strategy predicated on a theory of what it can do to aid Ukraine without widening the war to a direct conflict between it and Russia. Lessons from past crises point to the principles that should guide such a strategy. History shows that NATO would recklessly risk war only by crossing two Russian redlines: openly firing on Russian forces or deploying organized combat units under NATO-member flags into Ukraine. As long as NATO stops short of unmistakably crossing those lines, it can do more to help Ukraine at an acceptable risk of war.

Arms transfers and sanctions are both wholly consistent with this approach, so it is tempting to conclude that NATO members are doing all they can. They are not. They should build on current policies by dispensing with arbitrary limits on the types of conventional weapons they are providing Ukraine and expanding sanctions. Moreover, there is a third way to support Ukraine besides arms and sanctions—one that NATO is neglecting. It is time for NATO to encourage, organize, and equip its soldiers to volunteer to fight for Ukraine.

WALKING THE LINE

NATO should pursue a strategy of going as far as possible in Ukraine without plainly crossing Russia’s redlines—meaning refusing to openly attack Russian forces or send combat units into the country. The United States prevailed in the gravest crises of the Cold War by using this approach.

The Cold War’s first major showdown—the Berlin blockade of 1948–49—evinced this strategy. Although easily able to overwhelm U.S., British, and French troops in what would become West Berlin—an enclave deep inside Soviet-occupied East Germany—Soviet leader Josef Stalin did not seize the territory. To do so would have meant attacking those troops and thus provoking war. Instead, he imposed a blockade that choked off food and coal for two million Berliners. When Soviet troops blocked the roads and railways, Western leaders declined to attack them to reopen supply corridors. They resorted to an airlift instead, betting that Stalin would not attack defenseless transport aircraft. In the end, the vaunted Berlin airlift succeeded.

More than a decade later, American leaders decided to impose a blockade in lieu of launching an open attack—this time, during the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. Angered by the Soviet Union’s attempt to sneak nuclear missiles into Cuba and Moscow’s lies about it, U.S. President John F. Kennedy was initially inclined to destroy the missiles with airstrikes. He and others around him, however, decided the risks were too great. Director of Central Intelligence John McCone deemed airstrikes too risky, writing in a memo that the “consequences of action by the United States will be the inevitable ‘spilling of blood’ of Soviet military personnel.” He went on: “This will increase tension everywhere and undoubtedly bring retaliation against U.S. foreign military installations.” Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev recognized this, too. According to a transcript of his remarks at a Soviet Presidium meeting, he feared that a U.S. attack would spark a war: “The tragic thing—they can attack, and we will respond. This could escalate into a large-scale war.” Kennedy chose neither to attack nor to accept the missiles as a fait accompli. He instead blockaded Cuba. In history’s gravest nuclear crisis, neither leader ordered an attack.

One attack did occur, however, when Soviet generals on the ground in Cuba decided to launch surface-to-air missiles to shoot down an American U-2 spy plane that had entered Cuban airspace. The attack killed U.S. Major Rudolf Anderson, Jr., the pilot. Khrushchev’s fears of war peaked at that moment, and Moscow chastised the generals who carried out the attack. Before retaliating, Kennedy gave diplomacy one last chance. Shared fears about the implications of that shootdown led both sides to make concessions that helped resolve the crisis. In the end, the United States prevailed by taking risks without attacking.

The United States and the Soviet Union also engaged in proxy wars to avoid attacking each other directly and starting World War III. Both countries used large-scale arms shipments and sometimes soldiers fighting as volunteers to support local forces. Designed to avoid escalation, such covert wars are a common tactic in international politics. During the Korean War, Soviet pilots secretly fought in the Chinese air force. Soviet arms equipped North Vietnam, and Soviet soldiers even operated surface-to-air missile batteries against U.S. aircraft. Despite its losses, the United States decided to tolerate this Soviet participation rather than widen either war. The Soviets also allowed similar behavior from the United States on other battlefields. When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, for example, the United States armed and financed the mujahideen resisting it. The Soviet Union eventually withdrew. As recently as 2018, Russian Wagner Group mercenaries in Syria unsuccessfully attacked U.S. forces operating alongside Kurdish forces. The United States did not treat it as an attack by the Russian government.

Though I do know that her archival were things he said in the past, it is too easy to fake somebody else's posts by these means without an outside archival website and I will not enter them here unless asked for them.

At this point I ask Haken either to give a stern talking to at Second about his behavior, or just outright ban him from the site entirely. Most of those comments after the first couple were tables comparing how Joker with its 50 million dollar budget destroyed whatever Star Wars woke piece of trash with it's insane production budget.

Anybody looking at my posts there should take a look at Second's posts on Joker if you want to see something truly creepy. He really, really, really seemed to focus on the part where Arthur smothered his mom with a pillow.

Whatever you say, Norman Bates.

6ix, you are in attack mode. Here is one of my comments on Joker, that mentions Trump. It could have mentioned Putin, a crook who didn't pay his taxes on the bribes he took while Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg. Putin's crooked ways got bigger and now the crook is stealing the country of Ukraine:

Interjecting the comics to this movie discussion makes no point.

That is exactly like saying Trump's history of acrimonious divorces, multiple bankruptcies and of being sued and losing has no connection to the chaos of how he conducts himself as President. Trump is the same man before and after election. Joker is the same character before and after this movie. You might not read about Joker, but the writer/director knows Joker from the comics. Those 3 recent Joker comics are perfectly consistent with the Joker movie.

There are many stories about how younger Putin was a crook:

Putin's past history (as is true in the case of Trump) explains why Putin now governs Russia violently and dishonestly and why Putin would attempt to steal Ukraine from its people. Putin's theft is not going as smoothly as expected, considering how mismatched Ukraine/Russia are. But Stalin's failed theft of all Finland didn't go smoothly, either, especially considering the mismatch in military size between Finland and Russia.

Russia Threatens 'Doomsday' if Ukraine Attacks Crimea

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia's defense council, made his threat in a statement to Russian state media TASS.

"Some ecstatic, bloody clowns, who pop up there with some statements now and then, are trying to threaten us, I mean attacks on Crimea and so on," Medvedev told a group of WWII veterans in Volgograd.

"Should anything of the kind happen, they will be faced with a doomsday, very quick and tough, immediately. There will be no avoiding it," Medvedev continued.

Ukraine's response: "'A little more, and I'll show you all!' Show what? Kill another child?"

Russia Failing to Protect Tanks Against U.S. Weapons, Causing Mass Losses

7/18/22 AT 1:10 PM EDT

In total, Russia is estimated to have more than 2,800 tanks in military units with another 10,000 in storage, according to an April report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Many of these tanks are considered to be technologically advanced—specifically the T-90M tank, considered to be the strongest in Putin's possession. These tanks include a multi-channel sighting system, a turret with more armor plating and a main gun more powerful than those in many other tanks.

Despite its strength, some of Russia's T-90M tanks have been destroyed amid the conflict with Ukraine. The failure to strategically use the stronger tanks has weakened the military, causing mass losses for its other tanks, according to the Times.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense estimates that Russia has lost 1,687 tanks since the war began in February, among other significant losses to Russian aircraft, artillery systems and other vehicles.

What is the Russian word for Smithereens? – https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084698/

Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen leader and top ally of Vladimir Putin, said Sunday that he is waiting on an order from the Russian president to blast Western countries to "smithereens."

Kadyrov made the declaration in a Telegram post that announced the completion of a new Chechen regiment called "North-Akhmat," which was one of four that the Chechen leader announced was being formed last month to help replenish Russia's troops during its ongoing war with Ukraine. He wrote that Russia is the only country in the world to "speak out against the infernal abomination that the West spreads," and that he is grateful that Putin "made such a correct decision and gave us the opportunity to take part in this sacred struggle against Satanism."

"We are ready to go further on orders, to easily take Kyiv and the NATO countries," the post read. "Our units, hardened in real battles, will not be able to resist any army in the world. We have experience, arsenal, faith, patriotism, idea and TRUTH! The West does not yet understand how strong WE are!"

Kadyrov added that with one order from Putin, "we are ready to smash the false-democratic, pseudo-liberal and military-barbaric campaign of Western states, which are corrupting the world community in an attempt to subdue the entire globe under them, to smithereens."

Russian officials have repeatedly threatened Western countries, particularly those in NATO, against direct interference in the war in Ukraine. Putin has even warned of "retaliatory strikes" against countries that "create a strategic threat to Russia," leading to fears that the conflict could spread beyond Ukraine's borders. Experts told Newsweek in May that NATO has already crossed the line that Putin has said would justify such an attack.

The Chechen leader has publicly stated Chechnya's readiness for a large-scale military mobilization against Ukraine and other Western countries for months as the Russia-Ukraine war has raged on.

In May, Kadyrov said in a video that after Ukraine, he is ready to attack NATO member Poland, and told the European country that it "better take back" the weapons it provided to Ukraine to aid it in its counteroffensive.

"After Ukraine, if we're given the command, in six seconds we'll show you what we're capable of," Kadyrov said.

Meanwhile in June, he shared an ominous video showing a mass gathering of his armed forces. The Chechen leader gave a speech before the troops about ensuring "peace" in the world, saying that "Western European states have made all possible attempts to destroy our state."

Earlier this month, Kadyrov published another lengthy Telegram post that pleaded for permission for his forces to join the war in Ukraine to "get even with our blood enemies."

Russia Says It's Losing because Ukraine Has Experimental Mutant Troops Created in Secret Biolabs

That claim was made Monday by two Russian lawmakers heading up a commission to investigate “biolaboratories” in Ukraine, Kommersant reported.

Konstantin Kosachev, the deputy speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, and Irina Yarovaya, deputy chair of the State Duma, touted what they described as bombshell findings from the “investigation.”

Testing of Ukrainian POWs’ blood, they claimed, uncovered “a range of diseases” that suggest they were secretly experimented on “for military purposes.”

“And we see: the cruelty and barbarity with which the military personnel of Ukraine behave, the crimes that they commit against the civilian population, those monstrous crimes that they commit against prisoners of war, confirm that this system for the control and creation of a cruel murder machine was implemented under the management of the United States,” Yarovaya was quoted telling reporters.

“And those performance enhancing drugs that they are still given in order to completely neutralize the last traces of human consciousness and turn them into the most cruel and deadly monsters also confirm this,” she claimed.

Bizarrely, she also claimed that the presence of Hepatitis A antibodies in Ukrainian prisoners’ blood was proof of an American biolabs conspiracy, since a former health minister for Ukraine was a dual Ukrainian-American citizen who had worked to acquire drugs for the treatment of hepatitis in the country.

“It is quite possible that this was about testing these drugs on military personnel,” Yarovaya said.

The claims appeared to be a new take on the biolabs conspiracy theory that Russia’s Defense Ministry has routinely rolled out to try and justify the war.

Why do you write the same thing hundreds of times? If you want to be amused, here are Russians on TV talking about de-worming Ukraine like it was a cat: https://imgur.com/gallery/xH176iC

The Russian TV joke explained: To the veterinarian it is a special operation. To the worms it is genocide. Nobody laughed, so at least the Russians have some small understanding of what they are saying.

The worms should follow the veterinarians home and kill them, kill them all, in their beds.

A-10 Warthog planes might be in Ukraine's future

The subject came up at a conference from Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall and Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown.

Deborah Haynes @haynesdeborah
The US would be open to discuss giving its A-10 “Warthog” ground attack aircraft to Ukraine, the US Secretary of the @usairforce has indicated. Frank Kendall listed the ageing warplanes as among those the Air Force will be ditching to focus more $$ on modern programmes.

The A-10 was designed to kill Russians, but never got used for what it was designed. Ukraine has Russians a plenty to kill. Why not test if the A-10 can do what it was designed to do and finally get some value out of those planes which were built only because the Senators for Maryland wanted the A-10s built by Fairchild in Hagerstown, Maryland?

In its most recent budget request for the 2023 Fiscal Year, the Air Force asked for authority to retire 21 Warthogs during that period. . . . "A parenthetical thought. Why don't we give those A-10s to Ukraine?"

Sherman Fairchild, who owned the builder of the A-10, inherited his father's IBM stock in 1924, becoming IBM's largest individual stockholder until his death in 1971. History doesn't say it, but I bet Fairchild talked some excruciatingly stupid, yet highly articulate, Congressmen into buying the A-10. It's about time the A-10 got used for something other than making a rich man richer, but rather for what it was designed, e.g. killing Russians.

Russia conducted illegal ‘double tap’ strikes

In such attacks, Russia shell or launch an airstrike targeting a spot where paramedics and civilians are gathered to help the victims of an initial strike.

Russia has deployed this tactic, honed in Syria, in its war in Ukraine, according to reports from international investigators and journalists on the ground. In a March attack in Kharkiv, a Russian missile allegedly hit a regional administration building. A second strike occurred a few minutes later, after rescuers had arrived, according to an April report by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Five civilians were killed in another double-tap strike in Kharkiv the following month, as a Red Cross team tried to administer first aid, the Australian Broadcast Corporation reported.

“Syria was kind of the testing ground for this approach,” Nessma Bashi said. “What Ukraine has shown is that double taps are being conducted on a regular basis.”

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has breathed new life into the field of international law and efforts to investigate and prosecute war crimes.

In April, Russia tapped Gen. Alexander Dvornikov, a veteran of Moscow’s military operations in Syria, to oversee its operations in Ukraine.

“I would hope this would pull more attention to the importance of accountability efforts across the board,” Bashi said. “Certainly we know there are specific members of the Russian military who were involved in Syria and are now key players in Ukraine. If it is the case that those people are held accountable for crimes they commit in Ukraine, we will consider that a win for Syrians.”
