Interesting historical stuff I ran across while poking around in Andrew Jackson's presidency...

Didja know, now.. that the "Anti-Masons" were originally a political party ?

They were apparently formed in 1828 as a response to some good ole boy networking amongst well-known Freemasons in the capitol that went public, and took an anticorruption stance - now they didn't care for Jackson, as he was a Freemason and unfortunately the progenitor of the "Spoils System" (i.e. Cabinet posts for political supporters and friends rather than the qualified) which sparked their ire, but when they asked the National Republicans under Clay (also a Freemason) to denounce the order, he told them to stick it.

Apparently they had enough of a following to hold a convention and make addresses to the public, running former attorney general Will Wirt as a presidential candidate, who generally made a poor showing recieving virtually no popular votes and a mere 7 Electoral.

Strangely enough, as I write this, wiki popped up a listing for it, hmm.

Not much to it, but I figured from your name you'd take an interest in it.

ANTIMASON

hey thanks for the heads up, i havent been able to check around here in awhile. i didnt know that bit of information specifically, although it doesnt suprise me given the anti-mason revolt that occurred during that period, which i am familiar with. its a curious thing..our founders were freemasons, America is littered with masonic symbology, and textbooks generally refer to the oranisation as benevolent and distinctly American and patriotic...and yet, underneath the secrecy lies an identity that is completely contradictory to what is generally accepted; by that i mean its Luciferian doctrines, which was probably one of the main indicators for Americans that freemasonrys possessed alterior motives . heres a link a stumbled across a while back that supports this premise http://cuttingedgeministries.net/fmcorner.html
