Hi all!

When I walk in a theater I always see big movie posters and big stand-ups and all that kind of stuff. But, my question is: When Serenity hits the theaters there will probably be some sort of merchandise for that too, so, are we fans able to buy those things too? And if so, where can I buy it?

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

So far, from what we have seen and heard, there will be a trading card series for the BDM. There has been talk of a comic book, but nothing official yet. As to where you can purchase the cards nothing concrete yet. According to the movie site the cards should be available in time for the release of the movie.

Make friend with people who work at movie theaters, then you'll have someone on the inside. Typically, when posters and stand-ups arrive at the movie theater, the staff starts calling dibs on them, for after the film has had its run. You need to be dear in love to these people and make them get you whatever they can. I've been doing a similar thing with someone who works at Gamestop. Just ask my big stand-up of Viggo Mortisen from the Return of the King video game.

Thanks for the responses!

Well, I could always try to be friends with someone who works there, but doesn't the theater has to buy it from a company or something like that. I mean, couldn't I buy it from that company?

Actually, movie theaters get sent literally tons of stuff every year for free from the studios to promote upcoming movies. Buttons, posters, standees, banners, mini posters and other stuff. Having just left a job at a movie theater yesterday for a better one, I know whereof I speak. Technically the standees are the property of the movie studio, but they never ask for them back and those unclaimed by employees end up in the garbage eventually. I know several of my co-workers signed up for whatever they could get in order to sell it on e-bay. If you really want to get the good stuff, get in good with the general manager or regional manager, as they get first dibs on everything. As for buying it from the studios directly, if you find a source, please clue us in on it. I know that some theaters actually sell posters and stuff, but that's kind of rare.

I dunno. I doubt it. When I worked at Blackbuster, that stuff was distributed by Viacom (who own Blockbuster), and you'd have a much more difficult time suckering someone on that level.

Movie posters might be had from
http://www.allposters.com/
after the theaters get them.
