“ Shawna was a legend. She was a costume designer for Firefly and dozens of other sci-fi and fantasy series, including Angel, Star Wars, Power Rangers, Dr. Horrible, and Torchwood to name only a few.

As a person, she was kind, approachable, and loved sharing her costume designs with the fans who asked for her advice and opinions. She had two beloved children, pets, plants, and a galaxy of friends.

Many fans of Firefly know that she loved to add a pink flamingo to her costumes somewhere. She famously added the iconic flamingo pin to Badger’s lapel. The Utah Browncoats wanted to honor her memory. So, we created a pink flamingo patch to add her pink flamingo to our cosplays as we remember her legacy.

The Remembering Shawna patch is a limited-edition re-creation of her iconic pink flamingo pin. Each 3" high patch is hand-numbered from 1-250. The patch comes on a commemorative card decorated in pink and orange Hawaiian print.

100% of proceeds from this patch will be donated to the charity “Behind the Scenes”.

Behind the Scenes provides grants for entertainment workers to help with basic needs, recovery from illness, mental health, therapy, counseling, and funeral assistance.

The Utah Browncoats Society has entirely funded the patch to ensure the maximum donation.”

Badger was so cool he made me want to buy one of those bowler hats.

But then I remembered it was the 2000s and I'd look goofy as hell wearing that.

I always admired Jayne's ability not to give a crap what other people thought when he wore the hat his mom made for him.

Great costumes on the show for sure. She did a great job all around.
