So.... I've been watching a lot of "Family Guy" episodes recently and even though it was pretty funny and YEARS ago, one of the jokes made me kind of sad.... :(

For whatever reason, Baby Stewie was stuck on the roof and Brian (the dog) made a joke out of it and didn't let him back in. Shortly after Brian went in the house, the weather took a turn for the worse and wind was blowing everywhere and it started raining...

Just then, Michael J. Fox shows up on the sidewalk and yells "STEWIE!!!! I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE!!!!!".

Of course, Stewie says "What?" (MAJOR emphasis on the "H" in wHat)

To which MJF replies even louder "I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Even though Stewie is a Baby on the Roof in a major thunderstorm with wild winds, his reply was along the lines of "I'm sorry Michael, but let me tell you about your future...."

Does the fact that one of the greatest Movies EVER made recently celebrated it's 30 year anniversary make anyone else feel old too?

My bro told me that he couldn't figure out why, but Back 2 The Future is the ONLY "live action" film beside Labyrinth that my Niece will sit through. She's not even 3 and most of her attention is still for Frozen and other cartoons and short sing-song videos on Youtube, but he says that he's watched Back to the Future with her more than he would even watch it himself just to see if it was a fluke. And it wasn't. My Niece LOVES Back 2 the Future!

My first thought was...... WTF? Why?

Why would a 2 year old kid love this movie?

It's 30 years old.

There are no special effects aside from some lightning and fire when necessary. There is a lot of "boring" dialogue for a kid.

After thinking about it, I said: It has to be the amazing soundtrack. I was sure of it.

But he said that she won't watch more than 5 minutes of Back to the Future 2, which he thought she'd be way more into because of the upgraded special effects, and a lot of the music is recycled for that....

But she won't watch the sequel for more than a few minutes before getting bored...

Isn't that crazy?

What would a 2 year old Girl love about an amazing 30 year old movie with an amazing soundtrack that was not at all designed for 2 year olds to enjoy, but at the same time she has zero interest in watching any sequels to?

She won't even watch more than 10 minutes of The Neverending Story, which starts out with an amazing 80's song, and is stuffed full of characters you would think a child would gravitate to.

I told him to put 2 movies in the queue.

When she first watches The Goonies and Disney's Alice in Wonderland, I want to enjoy them with her. My first movie memory was watching Poltergiest with my parents on cable and being a 4 year old boy who had no chance of saving Carol Ann from the evil monsters beyond the grave.

Ironically or not, this "fact" was cemented in my head a few years later when the actress who played Carol Ann died at a very young age right after filming the Hollywood Cash Grab that was Poltergeist III....

Forget about family dying as a child to know what death is like. My first Hollywood Crush died of some crazy disease that NOBODY gets before I was even out of Grade School.....

I'd like to take a moment of silence and then listen to this video in remembrance of Carol Ann...

BTW... did anybody here watch Poltergeist II?

Not as a video rental later or catching it on a Cable station a year later, but when it was released originally as (looking back on it) what might have been the first horror movie "mini-series"?

It was AWEFUL..... but in a seriously bad way. Years later, I can say that one part terrifed me though. The guy who played Coach was still the Dad of the family. He was relaxing after a tough day at work and for whatever reason he was doing so with a LEGIT bottle of tequila that had a worm at the bottom.

It was gross enough watching him finish the bottle along with the worm, but we had no idea that he'd later be "barfing" up that worm about 10 times the size....

Terrible? Yes... but the whole Poltergeist II "made for TV" thing was otherwise a joke. I was so excited to see III in the theatre, but then I heard that Carol Ann died and to this day I've never seen it.

I seriously lauged about 20 minutes after hanging up with my brother when i heard her giggling and repeating a SERIOUSLY naughty word he said in our conversation on speakerphone and he was saying to me how can anyone dicipline her when she's just so cute about it?

So he did what any smart stay-at-home (PARENT) would do and said "if you keep saying that, (X) is going to spank your ass when (they) get home. :)

He told me that sometimes she just says things or does things and he'll ask her "Do you want a spanking?", to which she already replies "No, Thank You" :) lol....

My neighbors' 2nd born daughter is 5 years old going on 6 and a munskin.

My niece isn't even 3 years old yet and she's almost twice as tall as her and i have to watch my mouth on speaker phone. He says it's so cute that when I'm talking on the speaker she tries to grab his phone to see my face to do "face time" with me, but she's still too young to realize that Unkle Jack is "poor" ;)

If some girl is going to steal me away from my niece, I can't even imagine how much work that would take. I doubt I'll ever have kids of my own, and on the off chance that I ever do, I have serious doubts that they could so effortlessly say things like "***** *****", or *** **** or ****** or whatever Q-Bert says with a smile and a giggle and not be punished for it.

I told my brother that as much as he and his wife remind me of the McArthurs on "The League", I'm going to buy an "Elf on the Shelf" this winter and give it to her and call it Keigel the Elf.

When they're brought in for an impromptu Student/Teacher conference, I'm looking forward to seeing which one caves first and admits that her future toilet mouth is becase of them.

It's really strange for me.... I was NEVER allowed to say a swear in front of my mom because of my Step-Dad "rushing in to the rescue" even when I was 20+ years old...

Then my brother comes back from the army and says basically Fuck Everything and that's okay because he served I guess.

Before my niece was born, I have been making jokes about it. For years now, when I hang around my mom and step-dad, I don't swear at all about anything.

But here comes my bro and his VERY HIGHLY EDUCATED and SUCCESSFUL sis-in-law and they just say whatever the fuck they want to say whenever the fuck they want to say it and fuck you for saying otherwise, you mother fucker you....

I guess my "oldskool" niceties are going to pay off one way or another.

My niece is going to be Smart and Powerful, but she will never have to DEMAND anything from anyone.

People are just going to love her and flock to her and follow her because She really is an angel.

I know that a kid in mixed up Twenty-Teens has no clue about anything...

But let me help set the record straight, even with a lesser known song by Kenny Loggins, far more than a decade after Caddy Shack.......

Even though Karate Kid could probably have beat up what was left of Rocky at this time, Kenny Loggins was there to record a very important moment for the history of Mankind...

"Meet Me Halfway"....

I'd show her "Pooh Corner", but as an Uncle I'd almost be afriad that at less than 3 years old she has already outgrown that 20-something Kenny Loggins song... :(

I hope she never goes into politics. If she knew I was even talking about how awesome She is here, she'd just be shy now... but in a few years, she'll be hiding in the brush waiting to pounce :)

The VERY first song on Guardians of the Galaxy is Come and Get your love.

As much as I HATED that dude for the long awaited and super crappy Jurassic movie, he was PERFECT for the reluctant hero of the Guardians of the Galaxy. I probably still would have hated on him if it wern't for the love of his 70's Earth music that he still listend to all the time and at one point went to hell and back to retrieve when all of his comrades thought it a pointless endeavor....

My brother is a lover and a joker, and that's PERFECT for him.

Though there wasn't any Tom Petty later, I was a huge fan of RedBone.

The only reason I know that an TRUE AMERICAN INDIAN was responsible for this song is because when I grew up all you stupid adults talked about it.

"It's your businness, if you want some, take some, get it together baby :)

First time I really appreciated this song was when it was sung in "The Postman", an almost 4 hour long movie, and Tom Petty had nothing to do with that song even though he had a GREAT part in the movie later. :)

Moonage Daydream though....

When somebody leaves us, we tend to think just a little bit longer.... just a little bit harder....

Guardians of the Galaxy was made before David Bowie died.... but what better reason to showcase the "Best of Ziggy Stardust?"....

I think that is a reason that I really loved that movie and that character. My Uncle was the guy who introduced me to David Bowie and the Beach Boys, and he was the one who told me that "The Verve" still pays 100% royalties to the Rolling Stones everytime they perform "Bittersweet Symphony" whenever they actually pay taxes.

Fuck the Rolling Stones.

They are all going to live until they're 142 years old, far... far... longer than anybody but their dead mothers care....

I can't say the direction this will be taking, but you're not watching the mate I'm contemplating. I'd let you watch, It might Entice you, but the Queen's Wheels would not excite you...

FUCK YOU if you don't like it.

So who would dare defy the will of David Bowie and make a sequel to Major Tom while he is still alive?

Who cares?

One of the best 80's song ever made, no matter everything else.....

As smart as the people in the "RWED" are, it's rediculous how many points they collectively squander by being intolerable dicks all around.

I'll just let Bender do his thing in the background while the rest of the universie laughs at how predictable and pathetic humans with money are.

Even if you rich people say yes, it's the wrong answer....at least now....

NO matter how much there should be, nobody is here to say that "Literal Take On Me" is 5 years old and wrong...

"Oh watch out for them.. they're going to beat you up with the pipe wrench. You go thhrough first... I'm going to kick some ass with my own Pipe Wrench. :)

Paul Rudd...

Seriously... Ant Man isn't just a One Off movie. There is a very important role he's going to play in the future :)

Voodoo is Too Easy....

Like a Snake Charmer with a Drugged Rattler...

Have to start with a Positive Song, or at least a Neutral song...

Even though it's a religious based group, it's one of the prettiest songs ever.

ONLY IDIOTS from either side just accept other people's Truth....

It's just a great song. Enjoy it. :)
