(CNN) – As U.S. combat forces depart Iraq, President Barack Obama is planning a speech on the situation there after he returns to Washington from vacation on August 29, a senior administration source said Sunday. "There will be a speech next week on Iraq," the source told CNN on condition of not being identified by name. Few details of the speech have been worked out, the administration source said. All U.S. combat forces are scheduled to be out of Iraq by August 31.

Hello,

I saw this today on CNN. I hope he avoids the Mission Accomplished trope. I hope he is excruciatingly honest about the troops who remain and what their mission is, and how long we will continue to have troops in the country. I hope he doesn't blow it.

Because I still haven't seen a good contender come along, but if he chews any shoe leather, even a bad contender will have a shot. I don't want to see things go from bad to worse. When these 4 lukewarm years are done, I don't want 4 years of worse garbage.

Ya me to, seeing there are still 50,000 troops that they renamed to not seem to be combat troops, but are. The American people are not dumb....
