Just saw 2 cars this morning with the Gadsden Flag as bumper stickers...

You know, when the need is great, heroes rise from out of nowhere to fight and beat back the darkness... and they are just men (or women) like those next to you.

Gives me hope.

Maybe I DID read too many comic books growing up.

Yeah, rise up and stop that uppity Obama from getting healthcare for everyone.

oo bad these "heroes" *snort* didnt have the balls to step up when Dubya was stomping on the constitution.

Maybe you should have one day tried reading something more complex than a comic book.

Sorry, Story... did you ever notice how folks never pay attention to what you have to say?

In fact, people tend to sort of just... oh I don't know... ignore you?

Might want to work on that.

Well, considering your continued race-baiting and hatred and distrust of black people, I'd say you're really not on the right path. Considering your strong implications that the President should be shot for the crime of being black, I'd say I don't want to be anywhere near your "path", because it's likely to be littered with all sorts of white trash.

Did you ever notice how quick people are to attack when you speak of these kinds of things? They go straight to the Obama racist rants, even though no one mentioned anything about him. How does the need for heroes in difficult times and feeling hopeful for your fellow men become political? (Or maybe I read too much Tolkien as a kid)

It makes me hopeful too, when I see the "Don't Tread on Me" flag on the bumpers of ordinary citizens. It makes me think that maybe, just maybe, that there are people out there who understand history and know what it means to defend your beliefs and values against a hostile force. I could be overly optimistic in this case, though, they might just be fucktards who thought it looked cool.

Geeze, you people need to lighten up.

I did see one bumper sticker back during the previous administration which cracked me up, given that I have a really dark sense of humor and find amusement in that kinda thing.

FRODO FAILED, BUSH HAS THE RING.

Found that disturbingly hilarious, myself.

Speakin of bumper stickers, I find it also all too amusing just how FAST those "W" bumper stickers disappeared when it went south on his ass, that quiet little scrape-scrape sound as they crossed their fingers and pretended not to be the collaborators and enablers we know them to be.

Given that, one might look UNDER them Gadsden stickers and wonder what they find, cause I ain't exactly sure I trust the folk bearing them given how recently they showed up, neh ?

It's easy to dissent when you ain't risking your damn neck about it, and if you think it stopped at free speech zones and spying on protesters during the last administration, you'll be in for a rude shock someday soon - and yanno, I ain't exactly sure THOSE practices have stopped neither, they're just more slick about it.

I don't put any bumper stickers on my car. I'd really prefer not to have my doors keyed because of a bumper sticker that some fucktard took offense at. I have seen some good ones though. My personal favorite today:

"Would you drive better if I shove that cell phone up your ass?"

I like reading them on other people's cars when I'm stuck in traffic, kind of makes the trip go faster.

Well, PJ, there's one thing we agree on! I don't do bumper stickers either. I never put them on my cars; I always used to cover my guitar cases with 'em!

I saw something classic the other day on my way to work. There was a Prius a little ahead of me at the light, in the next lane over. He had a sticker on the rear bumper that just said, "Your Hummer Looks Stupid." And behind him was a guy in a Hummer H2. And he looked PISSED!

No bumper stickers, but before it washed off, on either side of the somewhat mangled front license plate holder (MI has no front plate, so mine is just an two evil glowing eyes) on my much battered and cracked front bumper, in mirror image were the words: MOVE OVER - in black magic marker.

Oddly enough, this polite request is often very effective.

No bumper stickers. I think they are self identifiers, potentially alienators. I did have a little "aWol" stick on my car. Funny, never got a ticket with that on it, not even in GA. I guess cops didn't like the way the admin. was always screwing them over.

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I still have my Ron Paul sticker on my bumper.

Every once in a while, some driver will honk at me and gesture wildly. I universally wonder what the devil I've done to offend them.

Only after a minute of thought, and with that driver long gone, do I remember the bloody sticker. "Oh." I think to myself. "I hope they weren't offended by my confused, startled, and maybe angry expression, and lack of reciprocal 'brotherhood of the revolution' gestures."

I'll say this for the bumper sticker, though - they didn't skimp on it. It's still as bright and shiny as the day I slapped it on in early '08. It's the only sparkly and vibrant spot on my car, in fact.
