This is so surreal, but then what isn't in Afghanistan?

Just yesterday, Karzai admitted to getting "bags of cash" on a regular basis from Iran.

"President Hamid Karzai acknowledged on Monday that he regularly receives bags of cash from the Iranian government in payments amounting to millions of dollars, as evidence mounted of a worsening rift between his government and its American and NATO supporters."

“They do give us bags of money — yes, yes, it is done,” Mr. Karzai said, responding to questions about a report in The New York Times on Sunday that Iran sends regular cash payments to his chief of staff, Umar Daudzai. “We are grateful to the Iranians for this.”

“Patriotism has a price,” he said."

This was in nearly the same breath as his criticism of the US for what he said was funding of private security companies to *essentially* murder Afghans.

I'm no fan of these private militia (wonder how many times they protected him?) and I'm glad he wants to hold onto the Dec 17th deadline for removing them, but to be saying these things together??? Seriously? It's like a murder suspect admitting murder and no one taking any action... I guess it's still a little early... if Big O. doesn't do something soooooon.... like pulling the f*ck out... $3.5 billion a WEEK... when we could have just sent him a couple million.

Our perception of borders is different from other people's. In Iran's eyes, we've already invaded, because we're killing Persians, on both sides. They're just clever about getting "officially" involved. They backed Maliki into office, so both sides will claim victory when we leave Iraq...
