Other court rulings are about to clear the way for further trials to go forward. This week we will learn the extent of the penalties in his fraud case. He was found guilty. They are going to be devastating to Trump. The fines will be in the hundreds of millions. They will also be shutting down his New York empire. It's funny how Jack keeps claiming Trump hasn't been found guilty of anything yet. His businesses have left a trail of convictions since 2016. And he has also been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman. This shows how Jacks' opinions are steeped in deceptions and untruths. That they are not worth giving serious consideration. tick tock until the debates.

Quote:Originally posted by second: In news that will infuriate tax cheating Trump and his supporters: IRS expects to collect hundreds of billions more in unpaid taxes thanks to new funding Feb 6, 2024, 6:26 PM EST WASHINGTON (AP) — The IRS is poised to take in hundreds of billions of dollars more in overdue and unpaid taxes than previously anticipated, according to new analysis released Tuesday by the Treasury Department and the IRS. Tax revenues are expected to rise by as much as $561 billion from 2024 to 2034, thanks to stepped-up enforcement made possible with money from the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, which became law in August 2022. Ensuring that people actually pay their taxes is one of the tax collection agency’s biggest challenges. The audit rate of millionaires fell by more than 70 percent from 2010 to 2019 and the audit rate on large corporations fell by more than 50 percent, Treasury’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax Analysis Greg Leiserson told reporters. IRA funding “is enabling the IRS to reverse this trend,” Leiserson said. The tax gap — which is the difference between taxes owed and taxes paid — has grown to more than $600 billion annually, according to the IRS. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/irs-expects-to-collect-hundreds-of-billions-more-in-unpaid-taxes-thanks-to-new-funding The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

Markwayne knows how to make a fast buck now that he is in Congress. Markwayne supports making abortion illegal in all circumstances, including cases of rape, incest, or if the mother's life is at risk. Quote:Originally posted by second: On one hand, Trump won't pay his taxes and won't collect other people's taxes. On the other hand, Biden invested big in more tax audits. A new IRS analysis claims it’s working. A fully funded IRS would bring in twice as much money as they previously thought, a Treasury report finds. By Dylan Matthews | Feb 7, 2024, 7:00am EST In 2021, Americans owed about $625 billion in taxes that they never paid. This number, called the “tax gap,” represented some 13.7 percent of all taxes due, and, had it been collected, it would have reduced the deficit by nearly one-quarter.
Quote:Getting more of that number collected is naturally an obsession of many tax and budget experts. It represents a way to fund government programs without raising taxes, adding to the deficit, or making other cuts. Deals like that can feel as rare as unicorns in the tax world. Funding the IRS in an effort to reduce the tax gap was one of the key ways Democrats funded their climate subsidies in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022. The question is what share of that $625 billion could be realistically recovered. Even a perfectly resourced Internal Revenue Service would, after all, miss some tax evasion and misreporting. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the IRS funding in the IRA would raise an average of $20.3 billion a year over 10 years, a small fraction of the $625 billion gap. For years, though, some economists have been vocally arguing that better enforcement could raise much, much more than that. A new report released by the Treasury Department on Tuesday argues that those economists had a point, that we have been understating the revenue this new IRS funding will bring in. They argue that it will bring in over $170 billion more than they previously thought over an 11-year window and that, if Congress extends this funding for the IRS, the ultimate revenue gain could be more than double initial estimates.
Quote:The takeaway is that investing in the IRS could, if this study is accurate, be a better deal than we thought.

Quote:Of particular note, The Democratic Party's wide lead over Republicans in Black Americans’ party preferences has shrunk by nearly 20 points over the past three years. Democrats' leads among Hispanic adults and adults aged 18 to 29 have slid nearly as much, resulting in Democrats' holding only a modest edge among both groups. Whereas Democrats were at parity with Republicans among men as recently as 2009, and among non-college-educated adults as recently as 2019, they are now in the red with both groups.

Quote:Polls have long found that questions about his age and mental abilities have plagued Biden’s standing with the public. Feb. 8, 2024, 5:28 PM CST / Updated Feb. 8, 2024, 7:56 PM CST By Peter Nicholas WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden sidestepped any criminal charges as the investigation into his handling of classified documents concluded, but the political blowback from the special counsel’s report Thursday could prove even more devastating, reinforcing impressions that he is too old and impaired to hold the highest office. Special counsel Robert Hur’s portrait of a man who couldn’t remember when he served as Barack Obama’s vice president, or the year when his beloved son Beau died, dealt a blow to Biden’s argument that he is still sharp and fit enough to serve another four-year term.

Quote:In October 2020, before Joe Biden was elected president and three months before Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a press conference. She was touting a bill to create a bipartisan commission that could determine a sitting president’s ability to carry out the duties of the office. The original bill’s author was Rep. Jamie Raskin, a Maryland Democrat and former constitutional lawyer who would go on to lead the second Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump. In Pelosi’s eerily portentous remarks, she said the measure wasn’t explicitly aimed at Trump, but his mental health “reminded” Democrats of why such a commission was needed. “This is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters, but he knows the need for us to create a process for future presidents,” she said. “This legislation applies to future presidents, but we are reminded of the necessity of action by the health of the current president.” The measure would have augmented the 25th Amendment, which provides procedures for transferring power to the vice president in case of the president’s death, incapacitation, removal, or resignation. It would set up a commission of 16 members chosen by Democrats and Republicans, who are medical experts or former high-ranking executive branch officials such as former members of a president’s Cabinet. The commission’s members would then select a 17th member, who would serve as chairperson. Pelosi and many Democrats regularly raised the issue of the 25th Amendment during Trump’s tenure as president, more as a way to question his judgment and mental acuity amid the 45th U.S. president’s furious Twitter rants and frequent acts of retribution and name-calling.
