Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) warned on Monday that a false claim of criminal activity, including election fraud, is itself a crime.

Through a tweet, Nessel responded to former state Sen. Patrick Colbeck’s (R) comments during a Michigan Board of State Canvassers meeting that ended with the state’s election results being certified.

Colbeck faced questions during the meeting about whether he had brought his allegations of voter fraud to the state attorney general.

Nessel confirmed in her Twitter thread that Colbeck “has never made a complaint of election fraud” to the Michigan attorney general’s office.

“If he had, we would have fully investigated said claim,” she said.

“Colbeck’s assertions aside, intentionally making a false claim of criminal activity to law enforcement is itself a crime,” Nessel continued. “It’s been my experience that is often the reason certain reports are not made.”

None of them will appropriately send these bogus claims to the AG’s office because they know they would be committing a crime by doing so.

This whole voter fraud bullshit is all a show. If they really believed it then they would send it to the AG’s office and they would have a shred of fucking evidence when Trump’s lawyers show up in court.

Trump, who has devoted his public career to laying down new legal train tracks one beat faster than the justice system could operate, has well and truly run out of rails.

Donald Trump has been in a footrace with the law for most of his adult life. And for the bulk of that time, he’s been able to outrun it. As James Zirin put it in Plaintiff in Chief, his book about Trump’s business dealings, one of many Trumpian legal tactics dating back to the Roy Cohn era was simply to wait out his legal troubles, either by heaving more money at lawyers, appeals, and more process, or by simply bankrupting or terrorizing his legal opponents. More often than not, time buffed the sharp edges off the legal system, and cushioned its consequences. Trump benefited from the same turtle pace of our legal system throughout his presidency. Whether it was slow-moving litigation over the fact that his close associates—like Don McGahn and, relatedly, John Bolton—ignored valid congressional subpoenas and requests, or the endless lawsuits over Trump’s financial documents that are still bogged down in the chutes and ladders of the federal court system, it’s been occasionally maddening to witness the contrast between the glacial pace of a justice system that demands slow and deliberative consideration of facts and the high-speed mayhem one person can wreak if he is inclined to ignore facts, invent new facts, and thus persistently remain 10 steps ahead of any accountability.

There is something to be said for the slow pace of the legal system because this week, despite all the money and all the awful so-called lawyers and all the bluster and denial and out-and-out insanity of his “elite strike force,” Trump’s ability to beat the legal system purely by overwhelming or outlasting or outpacing it finally ended. The Supreme Court is still sitting on the same Pennsylvania challenge it’s been nursing for weeks, a federal appeals court in Pennsylvania is sitting on another, suits around the country continue to fare spectacularly poorly—and it doesn’t matter. Michigan has certified the election for Biden, as have Nevada and Pennsylvania. The screaming and the threats and the bad lawyering will continue apace for a while still, but time itself seems to have solved the greatest threat to an orderly transition of power.

To properly judge Trump’s current behavior, we must think about treason inclusively. A useful conception of treason should include attempts to overthrow our constitutional system from within. Pinochet, the junta in Argentina, Mussolini, and Hitler all conspired to overthrow their own democratic governments. They were traitors to their fundamental laws.

Trump embarked months ago on an attempt to bring down the American republic during this election. Claiming that the 2016 vote that put him in the White House was rigged was typical of his unscrupulous boorishness and political egotism, but in a different category than asserting that the Democrats were from the beginning plotting to steal this election and are now doing that in front of our eyes. If there was any truth to this accusation, Democrats would be committing treason. But there isn’t, and that is abundantly clear to all but those Americans who believe every word of the President.

I might consider taking up arms against any group who was trying to take over my country, and I don’t even own arms. It is not surprising that Trump believers have brought weapons to intimidate elected officials, have plotted to kill Democratic Party leaders, and are now threatening revolt. Trump is purposely destroying the faith of millions of Americans in the legitimacy of their system of government. Afterwards he plans to return to his golden existence. But those supporters are making themselves outcasts in America, armed, angry, and woefully misinformed.

Eshelman, who is the founder of Eshelman Ventures LLC, now wants his money back because True the Vote did not provide him with information about their progress and he believes they can't achieve what they claimed.

True the Vote filed four lawsuits following the election on November 3 but has subsequently dropped all of them.

Georgia's Cobb County Republican chair, Jason Shepherd, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday morning he and his associates need "more information" before they can sign on to Powell's election fraud lawsuit. Powell has brought lawsuits in both Georgia and Michigan which allege widespread voter fraud issues such as forged ballots and observers being unable to watch vote tabulation. But in addition to the paperwork being riddled with formatting and typographical errors, one of the GOP plaintiffs never even agreed to be listed on the lawsuit.

Shepherd is one of seven plaintiffs on Powell's "massive election fraud" lawsuit which challenges the results showing Joe Biden soundly defeated Trump earlier this month. Speaking with the Journal-Constitution Thursday, Shepherd released a statement in which he says he "never agreed to be a part of her complaint.

Shepherd added, "Guess this is what happens when you wait until the last minute."

In the nearest he has come to a concession, Republican Trump said if Biden is certified the election winner by the Electoral College he will depart the White House. Biden is due to be inaugurated on Jan. 20.

If he chooses to pose as a defeated fighter who would fight again, Trump could also tap potentially enormous supplies of two things he craves: attention and money.

The attention would be offered by the media as he careens around the country conducting campaign-style rallies that would draw crowds eager to hear his insult-laden oldies -- "Crooked Hillary" and "Socialist Democrats" -- and new material aimed both at President-elect Joe Biden and anyone who might challenge Trump in a prospective Republic primary.

Money could flow to Trump if he sells tickets to his rallies and reaps profits from sales of official merchandise. More could come in the form of donations to political action committees that he would control. The President has already sent out numerous email and text-message fundraising pitches for a committee called Save America.

The reasoning here is that since it's mostly non Trump people warning about it, then it must be a psy op by them. I think this follows on from the people who think Covid is a leftist scam.

To be fair, a lot of the major tenet stuff was people making fun of Qanon. "The democrats are so evil they eat babies" is an obvious joke, but enough people believed it and it became real. But the ones who originally said it thought people would recognize that it was a joke.

I think eventually, that Qanon was all the fault of a leftist group will be the dominant method of acceptance. That they were tricked extremely easily by right wing grifters is hard to accept. That some genius on the left wing did it makes the persecution complex easier.
