Here they go; ABS cancelled two shows -- both on Friday night. This may mean good things for Firefly (nobody likes to watch reruns) or bad things (Funniest Home Videos brings in a crowd). Anyway, here's a digested version from AP:

LOS ANGELES (AP) - ABC's rebound effort has stumbled in the early going of the new television season, with the low-rated dramas "That Was Then" and "Push, Nevada" becoming the first casualties.

"That Was Then" was put on immediate hiatus, with episodes of "America's Funniest Home Videos" covering its Friday night time slot for two weeks in October, ABC announced Thursday.

ABC Entertainment President Susan Lyne called "That Was Then," about a man who has the chance to re-live his high school years, "a good show in a bad time period."

Starting Nov. 8, ABC will move "The Drew Carey (news) Show" and "Whose Line is it Anyway?" from Monday to the 9-10 p.m. EDT Friday slot.

"Push, Nevada," an interactive drama that offered the audience a chance at a $1 million prize and was produced by actor Ben Affleck (news), will air through Oct. 24, its seventh episode.

ABC, which suffered a 23 percent drop in viewership last season, overhauled its 2002-03 season with seven new series and scheduling changes on every night.

Last week, the network finished third last week in prime time viewing among the advertiser-favored 18-to-49 demographic and among total viewers.

Oooo, moving Drew Carey to Friday is the kiss-o-death. I don't even watch Firefly friday night, I Tivo that bad boy because (gasp) I'm usually out trying to forget the week of dreary work I just finished. ;-)
