Here's a book for you fear porn idiots...

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/04/29/the-frighteningly-fa
st-path-to-nuclear-armageddon-00154591

I'm sure that Second can and will provide you with the illegal pirate link shortly.

Quote:

Nuclear war would be bad. Everyone knows this. Most people would probably rather not think through the specifics. But Annie Jacobsen, an author of seven books on sensitive national security topics, wants you to know exactly how bad it would be. Her new book Nuclear War: A Scenario, sketches out a global nuclear war with by-the-minute precision for all of the 72 minutes between the first missile launch and the end of the world. It’s already a bestseller.

Why?

Why would you want everyone to know how bad it would be?

What is the purpose of that?

What good would knowledge other than the general consensus that we're all fucked if it happens do anyone? Be specific.

It's bad enough that every living person in the civilized western world was brought up being brainwashed with fear porn like this in the public school system through emergency drills and the constant Weekly Reader articles on the topic. But they don't even have to go to school for it anymore because their own parents will tell them all about it if they ask after hearing about it on TV or in the playground.

What's going on? Are we going to constantly feel the need to bring up this situation every few decades and terrorize the fuck out of the youngest of us.

It wasn't bad enough what you did to all of them over Covid, but now you want to fill their brains up with the terrifying idea that they and every single person they have ever met could die at any second if WWIII happens?

Bottom line is, if Nuclear War breaks out, we're all fucked. Whether it's total annihilation or not doesn't matter at all. Even if a good deal of places end up being only somewhat crippled or completely unscathed at all, have we not been learning any lessons these last 4 years?

Look what we did to the world over Covid. The supply chain still hasn't recovered fully from it. The worldwide economy is still reeling over it.

Then we blame the Russia/Ukraine situation for a lot of what ails society after that.

Now we got a fucking 2 mile long bridge that our interstate delivery system depends on sinking to the bottom of the river and we don't even know yet what impact that's going to have near or long term.

Are you fucking kidding me?

People are so soft these days that even if 90% of the world's population survived a bunch of nukes being dropped, half of them are going to wish they died. And I would imagine a very significant portion of them will make sure that happens without wasting any time about it.

You think you have shit to piss and moan over today? You have no idea.

Now that I am Type 1 Diabetic, I am a dead man if the damage after nuclear war were so bad that the entire system collapsed. If it were obvious once the dust settled that there was no chance anything could ever be put back together by the time my insulin supply runs out, I would have to reckon with the fact that I am walking around with an expiration date and decide how I want to spend the rest of my life living.

And yanno what....?

I'm not going to spend one single second of my current life worrying about or even entertaining in the slightest, that possible scenario. That is 100% a problem for potential future Jack to worry about, and I simply refuse to do it.

There is ZERO ROI in it for me, and for 99% of the world population to ever think about the possibility of Nuclear War. And that is simply because me and 99% of the world population would never be able to do one good goddamned thing to prevent it.

When THEY bring it up, it's simply used as a tool to manipulate you into feeling a certain way that makes you more pliable and prone to taking direction without questioning why.

Fuck you, Politico, and Fuck you, Annie Jacobsen. And two more Fuck You's to anybody who read her book and starts quoting it at parties.

At one time, the knowledge of nuclear holocaust prompted an actual reduction in nuclear warheads.

The fear among the alt channels that I listen to is that the current deep state/ "interagency" is so clueless that they discount the whole "end of the world" scenario's and think things will just go on as before.

But aside from pushing back against Russophobia and Sinophobia, I'm also not going to worry about it. If I'm going to prepare for an emergency, it's going to be an earthquake. Something I could do something about.

I'd recommend not putting any real stock in alt-channels either, especially on this topic, even though I'll admit to listening to them on my own. Most of the stuff they talk about is the stuff in the Legacy Media anyhow, and when they do delve into anything deeper than that you've got to start taking a lot on faith if you buy into what they say anymore than MSNBC or FOX news says about things.

I know they actually bring receipts a lot of the time, but I'm just about as skeptical of anything they've got as I am about the ceaseless propaganda thrown our way by the big guys. And maybe I'm not saying that they're just as big of liars or just as incompetent as our official media is... But for all we know all that information they're getting is given to them by the same outfit that is giving the Legacy Media contrary information.

Would you put it past them? I think only a fool would.

It's all interesting to me when it's about politics and even other potential end-of-civilization as we know it ideas that are usually a much slower burn than a nuclear apocalypse.

But not about this. Not anything to do with fear of the immediate and sudden end of the world. I'm not even playing that game.

Somebody has more or less a plan for everything. The specifics and small details in most matters aren't accounted for because they don't matter and they would be far too resource intensive to ever bother with. It's all about controlling the flow of 8 billion people and all their interconnected parts, not any of their individual actions, save but a very few important people at key points in time.

Only those orchestrators know if there will be a nuclear war in the future. To what extent. And all of the reasons why they chose it to be.

And since they're not about to share any of that info with us, I'm done buying into their constant fear porn, either on this issue or any other thing they manage to come up with. I have no more time in my life for any of that nonsense.

I just ain't going to spend any time worrying about it and I'm glad that you aren't either.

I think 6ix and Signym are missing the point. When the effects of inflation are included, the 30-year cost to sustain and upgrade U.S. nuclear forces would approach $1.7 trillion, according to a projection by the Arms Control Association.

https://www.armscontrol.org/act/2017-12/news/cbo-nuclear-arsenal-cost-
12-trillion

Consider that buying $1.7 trillion worth of nukes is almost the same as spending the same money on suicide, maybe the U.S. can find a cheaper way to kill itself.

I agree.

No nukes are good nukes.

So, why did WE ... not the USSR, or Russia, but the good 'ole USofA ... back out of virtually every nuclear deal we signed with the biggest nuclear power in the world?

Could it be that TPTB directing USA policy ... the "Interagency", WH marionettes, Congresspeople of all stripes, and the MIC ... are crazier than shithouse rats?

*****

And what can we do about it anyway, besides swim against the flood of relentless anti-Russia, anti-China, anti-Muslim, pro- "world domination" propaganda (which you're party to, SECOND*) and vote intelligently and do all the things that responsible citizens do?

*You obviously don't think things thru. Your ideas and morals are fighting each other. It's a free for all in there. The cognitive dissonance must be deafening.

My alt channels aren't the same as yours, SIX. I've listened to

American expat financier in Singapore (Jim Rogers).
Russian expats in the USA (Maryanov, an ex-Soviet military officer. Dimitry Orlov, an engineer who analyzed the USSR collapse).
Swiss and German military analysts (Saker and "B", respectively).
A connected Greek living in London (Mercouris).
Americans living in Russia.
CIA and ex-CIA officers (Rickards, Larry Johnson, Ray McGovern)
Former military officers (McGreggor, Wilkerson, Scott Ritter).
An ex-Marine working in Thailand who is very pro-China (Berletic)
Gold bugs. (Too many to mention)
Pathologist-turned-alt (Chris Martenson, the best source of Covid info.)
A pro-Ukrainian Belorussian (Dima, Military Summary Channel, who bird dogs every geolocated video from either side of the war).
Official Russian and Chinese announcments and opinion.
Putin critics.
Xi critics.
Norwegian academic (Glenn Diesen) and Brazilian engineer/interviewer (Nima, Dialogue Works)
Former politicians and policy wonks.
Too many others to name
And just for balance, I can scan the latest flood of official deep state propaganda here, which SECOND conveniently brings to my screen.

The west doesn't control the available narrative, altho it's trying. There's a whole world out there that is focusing on other things besides our internal, polarized clown show.

One thing I learned:

Some sources usually lie (our government, for one).
But even with the best of intentions, everyone has a POV, and nobody owns the truth.
By banging different perspectives together, you can see where each person is coming from and take bias into account.

Me neither

Quote:

Somebody has more or less a plan for everything.
I'm coming to the conclusion that, right now TPTB in America and the EU DON'T have a plan.
They have obsessions and desires and dreams, but AFA concrete plans to get from "here" to world domination (which is their #1 desire) right now they're REACTING. They thought they would collpase Russia with a proxy war and sanctions from hell in order to isolate and eventually take over China.

So far, it hasn't worked and they're caught in a Vietnam-style attritional war in Ukraine. It appears that the USA is now turning its attention to China directly, trying to drive a wedge bewteen Russia and China by threatening China with financial sanctions similar to but smaller in scope than Russia's. And seeing that China is still tied to the USD (that $1 trillion in Treasuries) ... and the USD is still tied to China ... I don't know how that's gonna work, but if they go thru with it there will be pain on both sides.

THAT'S FLAILING. They're pushing an anxiety induced reaction with unknown costs and outcomes.

They don't know. They're flailing. But I'm not gonna worry about it either. Its like worrying about a coronal mass ejection or the Yellowstone supervolcano eruption. Extinction-level events ...

Where you see flailing though, I see success.

Financially, America is weaker than ever. We're beyond bankrupt, yet we just keep spending and spending, with much of that money leaving our country. The same can be said for essentially all European nations as well as Canada.

Social unrest worldwide is growing everyday.

They managed to shut down the entire world for almost 2 years after telling us it was only going to be for 2 weeks and most people went along with all of it.

I don't see incompetency. I see controlled chaos. Everything is going to plan.

Chaos and fear have been TPTB's useful tool since at least 1952 when the CIA overthrew the democratically elected Mosdadegh govt in Iran and installed the Shah.

Chaos and fear keep opposition disorganized and people off balance.

But I think at this point chaos isn't getting TPTB what they want. The world is hardening into two camps, again. The more the USA leans on some governments the more those governments shift to the alternative, BRICS. Some people are getting smarter about how they're being manipulated.

The tipoff for me that they've had as much chaos as they can manage is leaning on Israel HARD not to strike at Iran in a way that would escalate into regional war. They can only manage so much at a time.

Just my $0.02

Well...

My two cents to that would be that the ones controlling BRICS are also the ones controlling "TPTB".

"Controlling" would be a misnomer. Shepherding, perhaps?

The shadow hands that gently guide humanity on the course that they have planned for it. Through good times and through chaos and everything in between.

I think the real TPTB are probably one level higher than you think they are.

Nah...

They're just very wealthy psychopaths.

As a group and over the decades (centuries) have created a whole system of ideas (Malthusian shortages, social Darwinianism, homo economicus, superheroes and transhumanism, scientism) that have been embedded in us at a subconscious level and butress and justify their endless quest for total dominance and worldwide control.

But they aren't t what you think they are. They aren't what they think THEY are. They're not superbeings. You're just sensung the amount of influence they developed over the basic tennets of our society.

It's funny bc I just listened to a video that addresses exactly that.

It's called "The End of the Globalists with Jay Dyer" but it could also be called "In search of meaning in the age of atheism". One thing SECOND throws in other people's faces is the "meaninglessness" of their lives (as if his has some special meaning!)
