Only around one quarter of Americans trust the news most of the time, and more than 4 in 10 limit their news consumption or avoid it altogether.

Gee... I wonder why.

News orgs and late night talk shows have chased away conservatives and are targeting people who have no interest in their shows. The ratings for MSNBC, CNN, The View, the Sunday morning news shows, SNL and late night talk shows have TANKED! The damage they've done to themselves can't be fixed, they're all no longer important. People can see how the MSM and entertainment media covers up Bidens gaffes and creepiness, they've become relics of a by gone era.

Well that's everything entertainment. Even the Dungeons and Dragons nerds are being chased off by pink haired weirdos with college degrees.

I don't share your enthusiasm about it not being able to be fixed though...

I hate the fact that so many people I know went right back to watching SportsBall after they stopped all the BLM bullshit. They're never going to learn any real lessons unless they suffer some real pain for their decisions.

I can't even figure out why anybody would waste any time watching SportsBall in the first place, so it's beyond my comprehension why they can go right back to watching it after they temporarily stripped the woke back out of it.

People need some more hobbies and they need to spend less time in front of shiny rectangles.

I don't think they can fix these shows and networks, once you lose a costumer they usually stay gone. They've made it very clear in the last couple of years, Republicans are not welcome. Plus SNL and the late night dorks aren't funny, you can tell that the writers for these shows ran out of talent years a go. It's only a matter of time before the network suits notice they're paying tens of millions for shows that draw 2 to 3 million viewers. If Doomcock on YOUTUBE is right, the networks parent companies (Disney, Viacom, Comcast) don't have the money to throw around anymore. For example, Disney is laying off 7,000 people, with the exception of "Avatar 2" all their flicks are bombing, when the live action flicks "Peter Pan" and "The Little Mermaid" bomb, many believe Iger and Blackrock investment (Which is propping up Disney) are going to start selling stuff, like ESPN and ABC.

I hope you're right, but at the end of the day it's all about voting with your wallet.

The fact that Antman's new movie is a huge freakin' dud right out of the gates is a good sign, as well as most of Disney's non A2 flicks last year doing a lot worse than expected, but the fact that SportsBall hasn't taken much of a hit because of all the IDPol and agenda they injected into it the last 3 years gives me pause for celebration.

These idiots shouldn't even be getting paid what they're being paid. I remember when Jose Conseco was the first professional athlete to bank $1 Million a year. I have ticket stubs from when my old man took us to Cubs and Sox games where the price of admission was $3.50 back in those days. Most folk can't even afford to go to a live game anymore. This alone should turn people off of watching SportsBall, but you've got a country full of out of shape, grown ass men living their lives vicariously through people they don't even know that make far more per game than they make in a year.

Watching sports doesn't make you a man. Especially if you're so into it that you know all the stats and don't even get me started on "men" who play Fantasy Football.

It's no different than playing Dungeons and Dragons in my book.

Fk'n nerds.

I'm a NASCAR fan, I've noticed at many tracks there are a lot of empty seats. Martinsville use to sell out, now the seats along the back stretch are covered with advertisements and still plenty of empty seats.

This supposedly worldwide survey doesn't include Russia or China.

German and British news organizations are tightly controlled, Germany by the CIA directly and Britain by the Foreign Office/MI6. They're as untrustworthy as USA outlets.

It takes a conscious act to disbelieve each "news" item until it can be verified by events. While most people SAY they don't trust news outlets, they still believe most of what they hear or read.

It takes even more effort to try and pick gems out of the garbage thats served up every day, and sheer genius to see behind the screen and figure out WHAT REALLY going on.

I take your point that most people spend far too much time in front of shiny rectangles. But even if they were to cut their screen time, they still have to treat these shiny rectangles as dangerous.

It's a lot less overhead for them, I suppose. They probably prefer it that way. Less labor costs for vendors, security and paying people to clean up after all the slobs after the races are over.

And nobody in the stands to block all of those advertisements so the people watching at home can see them whenever they briefly cut to the empty stands and stamp the Verizon and Pfizer logos in your brain.

I believe there are 3 steps to this 'Media Trust'

Step
1
Our media could be better but some of them are corrupt
2
infiltrated Media, We as a people have the Lowest Trust in our Patriot Act News media....from Step 2 it is still possible to reverse back to step one
3
Dear Comrade National we signal for virtue, our Livestream Cable Network Newshour Media National Broadcasting Company is Best in World! Our new Dearest Leader is Go! He defeated the previous evil hate-man guy in a fair election! Let us open our borders to illegal immigrant voters and Workers Proletariat Unite, We must go out and Riot for poor victim and overthrow bourgeoisie Capitalist Pig Class!

its is impossible to leave Step 3 without an 'Apocalyptic Collapse' or some sort of 'Revolution' and even then its possible they may only change the puppets 'in power'

Of course. Just because one person frees themselves from the thrall of all the shiny rectangles doesn't mean that they're not surrounded by friends, family and absolute strangers that are all still ensorcelled by them and the messages they're bombarded with every day. They will always be a danger.

How ‘woke’ ideologies are upending American childhood

https://nypost.com/2023/03/04/woke-ideologies-are-upending-american-ch
ildhood

Quote:

The left saw COVID as an opening to jam through their ideas.

There was a powerful political movement, mostly childless activists, content to make our kids collateral damage.

And worse than that, they want to draft our kids as foot soldiers in their ideological war.

While they claim to want to make our society better and more just, the reality is the impact of their crusade is leading to a teenage mental health crisis.

They tell our kids that the world is ending, that they can be gunned down any minute, and that they should take a powerful cocktail of drugs if they feel uncomfortable in their prepubescent bodies.

Is it any wonder kids are less happy and more anxious than ever before in history? That’s the objective: you can’t start a revolution in a happy and stable society.

“Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it… All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children.” ~George Orwell; 1984
