How do I protect my niece while still keeping her strong???

I'd take a bullet for her, and she cries when her own parents pick her up and reaches out to me.

We all know that 15 years from now she's going to hate me almost as much as her parents when I judge her idiot boyfriend.....

If she was as strong as Kaylee with her intelligence put to good use, I wouldn't be worried.

What little my life is worth now, it's all for her.

I love her more than anything or anyone I've ever loved.

You would too, if you spent more than 2 seconds with her. :)

Don't be the soulless ghouls everyone expects you to be in the RWED....

Tell my niece she's a cutie.

Before I find out where you live and cut out your tongue for having done anything otherwise. :)

One of these days, she's going to realize that Kokomo isn't a "Real" place...

I'll never lie to her about a fat bearded man that gives magic presents in December...

I don't see any harm into making her hopeful to keep that childlike wonder alive as long as possible...

Real life kind of sucks, huh?

Kokomoko is FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!

Fuck Real Life.....

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Jimmney Cricket barely spoke to her yet at 19 months old...

She doesn't even know but she spends her days teaching me lessons...

When she's old enough to really think about the situation, she'll be asking why I'm Christopher Robin....

I won't go into the gory "real world" details, but why not let her think that at least part of me used to be Christopher Robin?

I don't want a single negative opinion here.... ;)

I'm just saying that I haven't had such a positive influence in my life..... ever....

Elise makes me want to be Good.

That's enough for me.

If anyone tried to hurt Elise in any way, I will KILL THEM UNTIL THEY'RE FUCKING DEAD.

PERIOD.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Don't feel bad about it Brenda.

I can't speak for you, but clearly, I wouldn't be a good dad.

I know my limitations. :)

I'm going to make a fucking kick ass uncle though.

Always approachable to "friendlies".

Always scary to non friendlies.

I might not change her diapers or do the day to day struggle, but every single thing she points to and has an interest in I'm saying the words over and over so she will learn them and speak them. Her mom is afraid that she'll say Uncle Jack before she says Mom.

Whenever we get together, she cries when I give her to somebody else, and if I go outside for a cigarette i find her waiting at the door and hear that she cried because I left.

She's a lil' giant for her age. She's over 30lbs and nearly 2 feet tall and only 18 months old. According to my sis'n'law, she's like 99.7% in both weight and height for her age.

When my neighbors kids came over the other night, she knocked the 3 year old over and took her Frozen book back. She ran to her daddy and said "she pushed me". I felt bad because she needs to learn to share and socialize, but it is kind of cool that she is such a giant monster at her age that she can make 3 year old girls who can speak english afraid of her.

She can't even say more than 3 words yet, but she's already territorial.

I'm going to work on her social skills as she develops enough of a brain to teach them to.

If you could only see the way she smiles when she comes to my house and sees me, and runs up to give me a hug and pick her up.

What kind of man would I be if I didn't use that in her prime developmental years to teach her things that will put her intellectually in that 99.7% as well?

My only regret is that she's not learning Spanish and/or Chinese at the same time. If I had a gardener or a Sensei, things would be perfect now. :)

When I was dating the girl I thought I'd marry, She told me that she read that this song wasn't about a relationship.... It was about family...

I didn't believe it at the time, but I get it now....

I'm so thankful for the opportunity to make her life better.

However she positively impacts my old meaningless life now is just a happy side effect. :)

I had a good teacher in my dad. He always made time for me and would talk to me about anything that came into my head. School was a big priority for him when he was alive and so he would help me with my homework though it was over his head. :)

My chances now are maybe meet a guy that has adult children or teenagers and maybe be a step-grandmother or something like that.

Hey, Potential Future Mom,

Don't shit on yourself. :)

For the first time ever, my mom said "it's a shame you never had a kid of your own".

Don't think I didn't notice the past-tense of that statement, or the siesmic drop a man might feel when his mom finally says something like that. Michael Douglas was still having kids with the Catherine Zeta Joneses at 208 years old, but when your own mother who was always pushing has finally decided to rule out grandchildren from you, it's a pretty big deal.

Honestly, I think, in some post apoctalypic world where it was necessary, I could make a great father to a child. I could try to take the best of both of my part-time parents that didn't love each other and make the best of it.

The idea of sharing my bed for the rest of my life with another woman is just gross. If I married any one of my High School Sweethearts today, they'd be damn near 40 years old. When my old man was 40, he married a 20 year old (much to my mother's chagrin).

NO.....

I would NEVER make a good Dad.

But it turns out if you have a Great Brother and Sister in Law, you can make a great Aunt or Uncle!!!!

Best of Both worlds, really.

I love my niece more than anything or anyone I ever loved, and because I'm NOT the parents it's even easier to do so.

Take out any sexual innuendos, references to "love that we make" , and replace "shakin for you boy" with "girl" and this song is about me and my niece....

It turns out, just like my ex said about KC and Jojo, there aren't many if you look at it the right way.

Now I know why they say the best things are free.

And if I tried to have this conversation with my 19 month old niece, she'd just tell me to do the Hotdog dance.

The old me would have hated the HotDog Dance....

Seriously running out of mainstream songs that are still cool here that I can think of...

She's going to be the Smartest and Tallest and Strongest girl in Kindergarten.

If my family and her family genes have anything to say anything about it, she's going to be so cute everyone will allow it.
