Peter Kassig.

He was helping the people, delivering medical supplies and volunteering, only to be caught, held captive ,and then murdered, in cold blood.

And it seems like he was forced to convert to islam, and yet they killed him anyways.

Funny, huh ? I mean, you'd think if they wanted to make up an excuse to kill a person, they'd convert them to Judaism, or Xianity. But Islam ? Isn't that the whole point of their bloody jihad ? Covert or die ? Hell, with them, it's convert AND die.

Where's that get fun ?

I get helping those in need, but at some point, you have to realize, they need to help themselves.

The basics of life guarding are Reach -Throw -Row -Go. First, if you can REACH someone from the safety of secure land or a solid foundation ( dock, boat, etc... ) , you do it.
Second, THROW them a rope or a extend a pole. If that's not enough, get in a boat or craft and ROW. If all else fails, GO into the water and get them yourself.

I think too often, folks get wrapped up emotionally and GO first, before trying other means of helping those in need.

Just my 2 cents.

Not if we continue the State Dept's comprehensive " buy them off and hope they like us" plan. Seems that nonsense has plagued our country for decades, regardless of which party is in power.

After millennia of warring, allowing a second democracy behind Israel such as Iraq to flourish would have helped spread that contagious democracy throughout the region. But Benito Obama managed to bury that Hope of Change.
