He's been mentally ill for a long time. It's sad and disgusting how the Dems continue to use what's left of his body and brain as some sort of Disney animatronic propagandist. He needs treatment and bed rest.

I note that he did toss in the caveat ' that I recollect ', or some such. Pretty stunning stuff, regardless, if he truly does not remember saying it, very recently, and on the floor of the Senate.

Is there some sort of nuance wiggle room here we're suppose to allow for, or is that even beyond the pale for the staunch supporters ? Is the ' out ' he's likely going to use is that HE was talking about the " lies " of the Koch Bros funded ads, while those were entirely different from the examples given by REPUBLICANS ?

Really? I'm asking, and even offering up a possible excuse, but to be honest, even that is far fetched.

Stunning indeed, 'caveat' not withstanding. Lest we forget some of the other insane statements he's made ...

... He gave a press conference where he described how the body odor of Capitol Building visitors wafted through the hallways and how the pungent smell made him sick. Just what you'd expect to hear from the Leader of the Senate!

... He gave a speech on the Senate floor where his voice quivered and his eyes cried tears about keeping taxpayer funding for Nevada's State Fair Cowboy Poetry exhibition. Heady stuff from the most powerful Senator!

... Several times on the Senate floor in 2012 he accused Mitt Romney of not paying Federal taxes for ten years. He offered no proof, but insisted over and over that he "just knew" it to be true from a secret source. When Romney released those same returns Harry Reid never apologized or retracted anything. And this is the Senate Majority Leader!

These are just a few examples of why Reid belongs in a nursing home under the care of a doctor. He's a babbling buffoon. It's really just sad.

There's no wiggle room in a perfect world, or even a world where everything politicians say is on video, but these days anything can be denied as long as the press just nods along with the blatant lies and hypocrisy.

* I hadn't noticed Jongs comments about earlier Harry Reid gaffs and lunacies. In light of the more recent events, such examples are far from 'inane'.

Suburbs Account for 50 Percent of U.S. Household Emissions

Many U.S. cities are taking steps to grow urban centers in an attempt to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But a challenge is the significant carbon footprint of spacious suburban living, which in many areas, may be cancelling out these efforts. The report, appearing in the ACS journal Environmental Science & Technology, found that about half of the country’s household carbon footprint comes from people living in the suburbs.

Christopher Jones and Daniel Kammen from UC Berkeley point out that U.S. households, though they only comprise 4.3 percent of the global population, are responsible for about 20 percent of annual worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, which are driving climate change. In response, many governors and mayors across the country have pledged to reduce their states’ and cities’ emissions. But more information on the size and composition of household carbon footprints is needed to inform policies to make these reductions happen. A few studies have helped fill in some gaps, but they’re mostly small in scale and not broadly applicable. Jones and Kammen set out to paint a bigger picture.

They built an analytic model using national survey data to estimate average household carbon footprints for over 30,000 zip codes and 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 U.S. states. Their technique integrates a wide range of sectors, including transportation, household energy use and consumption of food, goods and services. The researchers found a number of surprising nuances. For example, Jones and Kammen found that population-dense suburbs have significantly higher carbon footprints on average than lower density suburbs, and there is a huge range across cities. As a result, they conclude that “an entirely new approach of highly tailored, community-scale carbon management is urgently needed.” They have developed communication and estimation tools for public use here and here.

HARRY REID TO RETURN CAMPAIGN FUNDS PAID TO GRANDDAUGHTER FOR 'HOLIDAY GIFTS'

Forced by the Federal Election Commission to explain where $17,000 from his campaign went, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid acknowledged giving the money to his granddaughter for “holiday gifts” in late 2013, and finally reimbursed the money to his campaign. The FEC sent the treasurer for Friends of Harry Reid a letter asserting that the treasurer “must include a brief statement or description … to clarify the following description: ‘holiday gifts.’” Reid’s campaign operation had listed the “holiday gifts” as two separate payments to Ryan Elisabeth of Berkley, Calif., on Oct. 23, 2013. One payment amounted to $5,416.93; the other was $11,370.00.

Harry Reid spent more campaign funds on granddaughter’s gifts: report

New questions are being raised about just how much money Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s campaign gave to his granddaughter for “holiday gifts.”

Mr. Reid looked to put the issue behind him this week by announcing plans to reimburse his campaign close to $17,000 for the “thank-you gifts,” but Ralston Reports has since said that Mr. Reid also cut additional checks — of $9,000 and $5,000 — to Ryan Elisabeth Reid in 2012, bringing the total to $31,000.
Ms. Reid owns a jewelry company.

Asked Wednesday whether the decision to reimburse his campaign was an acknowledgement of impropriety, Mr. Reid said, “No, in fact, it wasn’t.”
“We complied with all the rules,” he said.

The issue came to light after the Federal Election Commission flagged the spending and asked Mr. Reid last week for more details about the payments. Federal law prohibits campaign money to be used for personal purposes.

I've been hearing a bunch about the libs whining about how they keep obfuscating their faults in the discussions of extremeist Libs vs conservatives.
After reflection, I realize I have not kept up with the times. For decades I have normally referred to Looney Lefty Liberals, clearly for the simple reason that any Liberal or Left-winger is required to be delusional, a lunatic. (or retarded, but I try to give benefit of the doubt).
Now I realize I must adapt to Looney Lefty Lying Liberals, for every one of them absolutely lies every time they speak or proclaim their beliefs. Once upon a time James Trafficant was a sole bastion, but they got rid of him.
