I was gone for a few days attending to family matters, but when I took a peek at the list of recent threads, I thought for sure I would see this posted.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

The president smartly commissions a report on election administration. He selected Lawyers Ben Ginsberg, counsel to Mitt Romney in his bid to become the president in 2012, and Robert Bauer (a democrat) to co-chair.

Among the recommendations: expand early voting, standardize voter registration and elections, online voter registration, states encouraged to share voter registration data, in addition to enforcing existing federal laws.

Oh, there was one other little thing: Voter fraud has a minuscule, extremely low percentage of occurrence.

Just so you know, Ben Ginsberg served as national counsel to the Bush/Cheney campaign in 2000 and 2004. He was responsible for the 2000 Recount in Florida when Bush beat Gore; so he's no slouch when it comes to Presidential Elections, and elections in general. This man has a distinguished background in election law and has served a president and a presidential hopeful.

Smart move Mr. President, smart move.

America loves a winner!

Likely Barry will ignore this as he did with his economic blue ribbon panel as well.

Just window dressing for public consumption. Nothing more.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

I'm just a red pill guy in a room full of blue pill addicts.

Kewl, Shiny, I hadn't seen that on any of the news sites. Interesting.

Interesting. Not that these findings will have any bearing on the next ideologically driven attempt to purge the rolls.

No, Mark, of course they won't. They'll only provide facts for people who want to know facts...so we know who that leaves out.

It is a preemptive strike against those who would argue about the vote, mostly regarding the general election vote. How so? you say, well think for a moment who he appointed to be in charge of the commission - a prominent republican who was in the thick of 2 presidential runs.

Now the flapping lips of Rush and company have a major task ahead of them if they're to oppose the president. This should prove interesting. So far, nothing but silence from the bottomless pit of opposition. And you will not hear anything - period. Now, when voters rights are fought across the country, all they need do is pull out this report.

"Your own guy gave the go-ahead" will be the battlecry. I, for one, can't hardly wait to see what the real right will say - let's commence "au festivale"

This is a lot more than window dressing, as our resident Ambassador of Trollness has claimed. This is chess at it's most subtle. I dare say we are going to hear a lot of double talk and misdirection. Only way to deflect the truth of the matter.

Niki,

It was briefly mentioned in the mainstream media the other day, but because of the level of respect afforded to Benjamin L. Ginsberg, the attorney who successfully got Bush 2 into the White House back in 2000, the right wing machine have been reverently quiet on the matter.

The attention has been turned to the "war on women" and other matters.

Notice that mention of the 2 appointees doesn't come until damn near the end of the article. That, to me, is a major downplay of the importance of the president's choice to include Mr. Ginsberg. I would not like to play chess against the president, because this is one of those moves that will come into play much later in the grand scheme of the voting rights of millions.

Be patient grasshopper..................
