Was it shot down? No. But it is an interesting conspiracy theory. I'm sure the documentary will be fascinating. I watch stuff like that all the time on The History Channel. They often air stories that interweave historical facts with imaginative conjecture.

America loves a winner!

I'd not rule out the possibility.

Only thing is..if it was, then why haven't we seen more airliners taken down in similar fashion ?

Over 1,000 NTSB, FBI, and FAA metallurgy experts and agents examined every inch of that plane during an exhaustive investigation that lasted over one year. They specifically investigated the 'missile theory' and found not one shred of evidence to support it.

It's suspicious that these now-retired whistleblowers waited 17 years to make a claim of a cover-up. Why didn't they say anything in 1996? How could 1,000 men cover anything up? There isn't even a plausible reason why anyone would want it covered up anyhow.

you will...obama gave 20000 sams to al qaeda.

bombs are the preferred method to temrinate airliners by uncle scam....easier to allege 'technical malfunction' or 'pilot error'.

Jongsie, this is one of them situations where everyone involved prettymuch knows what happened, but no one wants to open the can of worms admitting it outright would do.

The aircraft was flying over an area where the Navy was testing the CEC system, which is an automated overlap system for fleet defense against threats like the Excocet.

And someone in there fumbled the ball, leading to either a test missle with dummy warhead locking onto, and subsequently striking, or one of the target drones colliding with, TWA 800 and resultant loss of aircraft with all hands and passengers.

Not only is there the video, but an independant chemical analysis of the seat materials from the damaged section produced results consistent with the exhaust products of either one.

From some of the recovered pieces, it looks most likely a drone collision rather than a missle, as the debris is entirely consistent with a Ryan Firebee, a common target drone in use by the Navy since the 1950s or so.

So yeah, accidental, but no one wants to own up to it, as usual - this has been kind of an open secret for years though, I'd wonder why it's suddenly come to prominence again, unless someone feels the need to put a little boot in the ribs of the powers that be as a follow-on to the current revelations.

Think about it Rap....

Shooting down a few planes and burning two perfect buildings to rubble without damaging a single other building in one morning is quite a feat.

An "op" of this horrific magnitude would have to not only be conceived by some of the "ugliest" souls this side of Hitler, but would have to be implemented by mindless cronies who have sold their souls as well.

Let's not forget that we all have to "believe" the lie. If something like this were to start happening every 3 years or so, I'm sure it would be much more than just your average fringe loony that didn't believe it anymore.

Don't get me wrong here. I'm sure as hell not saying this as a liberal coming down on conservatives. Obama has not only benefitted from this tragedy of 12 years ago, but he's been able to stack new bricks on the castle walls since then.

I'm not saying that I even believe more than 50/50 this was a fixed job.

I'm just saying that if it were, it would be foolish to use it any more than every 50-60 years or so.

Last possible time it was used...... Pearl Harbor.....
