Attorney General Eric Holder personally signed off on the search warrant of Fox News reporter James Rosen's emails, NBC reports.

The warrant named Rosen a “possible co-conspirator” in violation of the Espionage Act for obtaining leaked classified information from a Pentagon source.

Rosen has not been charged.

The revelation came on the same day President Barack Obama said in a speech that he had ordered Holder to review the Justice Department's standards for investigating cases that involve journalists.

"I am troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable," Obama said in the speech. "Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs."

A law enforcement official told NBC News of Holder's personal involvement on Thursday. Holder has previously said that he recused himself from the AP phone records investigation since he had been a witness in the initial probe, but no one had previously indicated Holder's role in the Rosen case.

"It was approved at the highest levels -- and I mean the highest," the law enforcement official told NBC, speaking on condition of anonymity. He told the news organization that he included Holder in that statement.

I'm sure the usual suspects on here will declare any reporter from FOX to be guilty, of what ever, and Holder's actions fully justified.

He testified before Congress last week that he had not signed any warrants, which now we know to be a lie. He'll be gone very soon.

Holder should have been removed after he failed to pursue the thugs of the NBPP , 'guarding' the polling place.

Or most certainly after Fast and Furious broke.

But, as always, he and this admin are masters at the slow walk, barely moving at all in any valid investigation, so they can just bide their time, until the public forgets alllll about their misdeeds.

Hell, it's not like the media are going to raise fuss over anything they do, is it ?

Ooops.

Out of the three scandals, the Press cares the most about the AP/Fox one because that one threatens them, both now and with future Administrations.

The IRS one is still bothering the Press, but as it's the most criminally serious one, and the one that will lead right inside the White House, I suspect they will soon go back to their usual modus operandi...ignore, then mock, then ignore again.

And the Benghazi one is still just pure politics to them. They don't want to see Hillary tarnished.

Two words - Joe Biden.

Even whacked out Lefties can not abide Crazy ass Joe having even a snow ball's chance at the White House. Though not a messiah to the Left as is Obama, she's the next best thing. And a far better choice than BiteMe Biden.

Considering that Republicans cannot win a national election under the current dependent-class voting bloc reality the Dems have established, perhaps Biden wouldn't be so bad. As the Obama debacle continues to get uglier and more repulsive over the next couple of years, we're all gonna need some new Biden gaffes and laughs to help heal the damage to the nation.

"Well, I would say this, with regard to the potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material, that is not something that I've ever been involved with, heard of, or think would be a wise policy. In fact, my view is quite the opposite that what I proposed during my confirmation, what the Obama administration supported during 2009 and I understand, I think that Senator Shumer is now introducing a bill that we are going to support as well, that the press should have a shield law with regard to the press's ability to gather information and to disseminate it. The focus should be on those people who break their oaths and put the American people at risk, not reporters who gather this information. That should not be the focus of these investigations."
