Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Quote:

Two leading Republican lawmakers said Tuesday that reports of chemical weapons use in Syria, if true, mean the president's threshold for involvement in the country's civil war has been met.

Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham, who have led calls in Congress for greater U.S. involvement in Syria, issued a joint statement saying the attacks, if verified, would demand a response from President Barack Obama.

Yeah, we'd have been TONS better if McCain had won. You betcha!

I hope this isn't by way of saying "heeere we go again..."

Questions abound.

If they have such weapons, where did they get them, ehe ?
I rather suspect the weapons in question are more low grade CS, Teargas, Nausea type agents than something like VX, and even more convinced they were purchased at one time or another from US or Russian sources, as the only two countries with actual credible weapons programs of that nature.

I don't doubt there's some leftovers in their stockpiles, but that stuff doesn't age too well in storage - and say some rebels accidently released some when assaulting a stockpile, that could also be the cause of the incident as well, at this time no one knows.

Best GUESS, and only a tenative assessment, is that the rebels wanted to get their hands on some, and got a little too trigger happy in the attempted seizure, resulting in casualties on both sides and fingers pointed - if it was an older stockpile, that stuff would likely still be pretty nasty up close and in high concentration, but would not be very effective otherwise.

Also, regarding the whole situation on a greater scale, this just made my day, when I heard it.

I can actually see some potential in there for international coordination/cooperation in regard to protests against existing power, will have to look into that...

McCain and Graham should go there and sniff around for any chemicals in the air. Long, deep sniffs. And if we help the rebels topple the govt., then we could have another defenseless embassy and annex attacked and burned to the ground. Kerry and Hagel would do a much better job saving American lives than their predecessors did, I'm sure.

Just as their predecessors did a much better job of it than THEIR predecessors did.

But Republicans don't like to talk about all the embassy/consulate attacks and deaths under Republican presidents, I've noticed. They tend to run away when the subject is brought up.

I heard an odd report today, on the matter of whether chem weapons were used or not in Syria. They said NOW it appears ( paraphrasing ) that " there's substantial evidence that WMD were NOT used "... huh?

Either they were used or they weren't. The signs should be pretty well read, either way, and there shouldn't be much in the way of any confusion here. Chem weapons leave some sort of signs, do they not ? Like VICTIMS , if there were any, or trace elements, at the very least ?

Why would they phrase it in the manner like " there's evidence of NON use ", when it should be 180 degrees the opposite. Either there's evidence FOR , or there's no evidence, right ?

Freakin' press.

And Kwickie, when did a GOP President , having had multiple requests for more security, and then calls for help, ignore our Amb completely, and leave them to die ?

I'll hang up and listen.

Can you show me where anyone in any embassy ever called any president of the U.S. directly for help?

Panetta testified before the Senate panel that during the 9 hour Benghazi embassy siege he spoke to Obama only one time. Hillary didn't speak to anyone because she didn't know anything. Helluva team there.

Figures.

Where's your evidence that the ambassador called the president directly?

Why won't you answer that?

The GOP response to Benghazi? Further cuts to embassy security around the world, courtesy of the sequester.

Ok, fucktard, recite to us all the instances where these ambassadors sent repeated requests for more security and or expressed a dire concern for their safety before said attacks.

I'll hang up and listen.

100% bullshit.

The "sequester' still adds $ to the budget from the previous year, and the sequester was OBAMA'S FUCKING IDEA IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE.

There's more than enough $ for security, but the fucking idiots in THIS administration would rather spend near a MILLION DOLLARS for Bite Me Biden to spend 1 night in London and 1 night in Paris at 5 fucking star rated hotels, with a huge entourage in tow. Arrogant, wasteful, gutless, idiotic " leadership " from this worthless pieces of shit who are driving this country into the ground.

What, are you asking for cites?

You fucking HATE when people do that. Remember?

I'm still waiting for all those cites you've got that support your idiotic claim that "10,000 years" of societal evolution makes marriage strictly and only between one man and one woman. You never have been able to support that bogus assertion with any evidence.

Meanwhile, you might want to go check your diaper; I think you just pooped your itty britches in your cute little rant there.
