The game includes coffin-shaped "targets" with indicators for heart and head.

I'm sure they won't be blaming themselves for any future shootings, of course.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Yeah, I heard about that, and was predictably disgusted. The NRA blows my mind sometimes; I expect little else, but they still can manage to sicken me further...

Besides, we all know the "video game" and "mentally ill" things they came up with were just distractions in the first place to avoid talking about guns, so it should come as no surprise that they'd make money off their own violent video games too.

Tit for tat got us where we are today. If we want to be grownups, we need to resist the ugliness. If we each did, this would be a better reflection on Firefly and a more welcome place. I will try.

Yep, the NRA leadership really have quite a set of cojones to actually talk shyte about how the media encourages these mass shootings and then turn around and offer their own shooting game. They have huge elephant balls talking about Hollywood etc.

I'll go one further - they are hypocrites and ungrateful towards the media because they use the "hype", or marketing, to their advantage. They are biting the hand that feeds them. Why? because it is the era of the bold-face lie. The right wing conservatives have perfected that maneuver in recent years - Fox News, Palin/McCain, Romney/WhatsHisFace - saying the complete opposite of reality and the sheep believing every word. If Obama says the sky is blue, they say it's orange. So much is the reverse hype that they start to believe their own bullshit.

The NRA has pulled the wool over the eyes of a great majority of their members (and non-members) by pointing fingers every which way. There are those that believe that the "government" are coming to get their guns. There are those that believe that the country is headed toward an economic social collapse, so much so that they have stockpiled weapons for that future civil war. Look at the Newtown case, it seemed as though the mother was in preparation for such an event to occur. She taught her mentally challenged son how to shoot a hand gun and an assault rifle. The dark irony was that he used the rifle against her, and this after she supposedly told someone that she was "losing him." She knew something was up, then why not take the proper precautions?

One of two things needs to happen: 1- Ban the "war" guns or; 2- Register everything and submit to a central data bank whereby WMD guns are accounted for. Someone goes on the rampage and kills a bunch of people - trace it back to the owner and sue their pants off (plus jail time). Someone has to be responsible for all the carnage. If a cop gets shot - death penalty. Yeah, that's tough, but people will keep better care of their weapons.

Let me say that I believe the majority of the gun owners and NRA members are responsible and level-headed. It is the NRA leadership and conservative right wing that are looking to blow this out of proportion. Could you imagine the President sending troops all across the country to "collect" the millions of guns that are out there? That is the most ludicrous thing I ever heard (almost as good as WMDs). The logistics alone would be, well.....ridiculous. But this is what they have a select few thinking.

Funny thing is that the NRA once supported, yes supported, gun control.

So strong was this belief, the norm of the day was that "For decades, the U.S. military gave surplus guns to the NRA and sponsored shooting contests." How different that is today.

The above-mentioned article makes a strong case regarding the about face of the NRA in modern times. Gun control was about protecting the citizens of the individual states, and not about government control. Some where along the line that philosophy changed. Read the article, it makes good sense.

Personally, I think it has to do about the money!!!

I'm a fan of old school, pre 2001 games.... I played PC games in the late 90s that looked better than this....

Trust me, no kid today is playing this unless their parents coheres them.....
