Afghanistan or Connecticut, my heart goes out to parents the world over. Only a parent can conceive the loss.
Universal Spirit bless.

And happy holidays to my fellow RWED combatants, err, friends... whatever.

Amen.

Tit for tat got us where we are today. If we want to be grownups, we need to resist the ugliness. If we each did, this would be a better reflection on Firefly and a more welcome place. I will try.

Does this prayer include the 50-million parents who murdered their kids in America since 1973?

Hope you got that bottle rocket you wished for. And maybe a pony too.

Speaking of ponies.....last night on Seinfeld rerun....

Elaine: I hate ponies.

Jerry : Me too. In fact I hate anyone who ever had a pony.

85 year-old Aunt Manya : When I was a little girl in Poland I had a pony. I loved that pony. And all my friends had ponies. What's wrong with a pony?

Jerry: Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean any disrespect. I mean who expects an immigrant to have had a pony. In all the pictures of immigrants coming here I never saw any ponies. Why even come to America if you had a pony. It doesn't make any sense, leaving a pony country to come to a non-pony country.

While I agree w/ the sympathies and sentiments and all, appealing to Godâ„¢ seems to be, imo, a pointless gesture.

And we have ponies over here in the US. Only most of the immigrants have chosen to use cars and other forms of modern transportation instead of owning a horse.

Brilliant! Too bad Larry David didn't have you or Yankee Doodle on staff as fact-checker for the show.

Writer and creator of Seinfeld. Also had his own series on HBO called Curb Your Enthusiasm which was terrific and ran for many years. But you're just pulling my johnson here, right?

But just in case....Yankee Doodle came to town riding on a PONY!

You can keep your John Thomas to yourself, thank you very much.

But yah, I know OF Larry David. I just don't get what all the fuss is about Curb your Enthusiasm.

Fascinating how Chris' simple prayers for parents who've suffered a loss turns into...well, what it turned into. Sigh...

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

After our baby was born, we learned she was seizing endlessly because of a massive brain bleed. I had this image of us being in dark place, her in a basket on the water, floating away to a place I couldn't follow or even see, away from me and my arms.

My heart aches for parents everywhere who are grieving for their children. My hopes for healing and a better future go out to them.

I think it's too heavy a thing for some to comment on seriously without wanting to cry a bit. IMO there is no greater pain or unbearable loss.

Jezus, Sig, I'm so sorry! How do you cope, has medical science been able to help at all? I can't imagine how a parent deals with a special-needs child, I'm far too selfish to do a good job at it, and can only begin to imagine the heartache of both that and those who lose a child--especially the way the Sandy Hook parents did. It seems to me it's one thing if a child drowns or something, but quite another if they are killed the way those children were. Maybe there's no difference in the grief, but it seems to me it would just make it worse to have them die for no reason whatsoever, and to know they died in fear and horror. The closest I can come is my dogs, and they've taught me just how impressive the imagination of a "parent" of any kind can be.

All my best wishes to you and yours, and I second your last statement greatly.
