Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

What does the election result mean for the US, and the world over the next four years?

What does it mean for the economy?

What does it mean for the debt, and the fiscal cliff?

What does it mean for partisan gridlock?

What does it mean for the Iranian nuclear issue?

What does it mean for the Middle East peace process?

What does it mean in general?

Your predictions please.

Well, I'll tell ya what it means for me.

You do realize that without a certain degree of medical care support, I will very probably die, right ?
And despite having to fight tooth and claw for it over the past couple years, I *have* been able to beat it out of the system, forcibly hold them to a legal agreement spawned by their deliberate attempt to more or less murder me by withholding it over a period of some years.

Had things gone the other way, that would have evaporated.
I wasn't gonna say that, other than stating "self-defense" till now.
Once you wrap your mind around that little fact, the reason for a certain level of personal hostility about it will become quite, quite clear.

I do sincerely hope they manage to clean up this worst-of-both-worlds mess with our medical care system now, cause it still well and truly sucks.

As for the rest I figure the situation will improve, but only as fast as they can grind through the obligatory obstructionism, which is par for the course - there is one point I am hopeful about however.

It started when that jackass Ninnyhammer (Netanyahu), as I call him, demanded a face-to-face with Obama after the prez used Rahm Emmanuel to stonewall his ass, only to be rejected out of hand and then sent packing from the offices of not one, but two congresspersons who used to be reliable Likudnik butt-kissers... this resulted in the hilariously bad slideshow and tantrum at the UN shortly thereafter which was downright embarrassing, and ego-fueled rage compounded by their version of the supreme court chastising him for interfering in our elections process.

While not especially publicized, the Likudniks jumped ship over this and supported Romney, but it was too little, too late, and frankly no amount of money can convince america to support a candidate who's a complete fekkin tool, especially if you hire a lunatic as veep (See Also: Palin), and so now it comes to this - Obama won the presidency WITHOUT the support of the Likudniks, making him less beholden to them, so for the first time in however long we have a CinC who is not COMPLETELY Israels bitch.
Sure, he might have to toe the line here and there to appease the various Congresscritters he needs on his side to get anything done, but he has no direct obligation - and that's a game changer.

We'll see how much this translates into policy, but I am guessing Obama will ease into a more balanced approach and drawdown of force levels.
One can only hope that taking the heat out from under that cauldron chills things out a little, but I think we've got a little cred to work with after today, cause the other nations of the world were kinda holding their breath and wondering if we were completely off our nut, you know ?
Having proven we ain't, that's an edge we can use diplomatically if we jump on it fast enough.

America loves a winner!

What does it mean for the economy? Slow growth, no fast fixes to direct more wealth upwards.

What does it mean for the debt, and the fiscal cliff? The debt will decrease, again, slowly and evenly. The cliff will always be there in case of slippage.

What does it mean for partisan gridlock? Probably less of it- the GOP has to seriously re-thing how much America could hate them even more for stonewalling now, and they'll be wanting to be seeming a might warmer & fuzzier now I'll wager.

What does it mean for the Iranian nuclear issue? No jumping into a war with them anytime soon. Non-blow-em-up methods will be employed to make them play nice, and remember, we got Bin Laden pretty quietly, so that's still in the minds of dickwads everywhere.

What does it mean for the Middle East peace process? Not sure there... probably better that we don't have a hothead like Zomney at the helm.

What does it mean in general? A kinder, gentler America. Well, no immediate Zombie Apocalypse at any rate.

Ha! If only the electoral college were weighted by land area and not by population, huh Rap?

It's not personal. It's just war.

Oh, and what direction will the GOP take? Can they diversify beyond the angry white vote? I think the angry white vote might resist that. Party civil war?

I sincerely hope so too, Frem. I have never, ever been able to wrap my head around your health system. It just seemed somewhat inhumane for a wealthy country to not be able to afford a decent public health care system. It was just a shame that it had to be introduced when there was a recession.
