America loves a winner!

Oh, sure, the video is making a point, but to the question, is it racist to donate $ to have only a specific " race " of babies aborted ?

Does a person HATE blacks, for example, if they're donating to have only black babies aborted ?

Or, as our President said, it's a benefit to blacks, so they're not burdened with a baby, that they can easily have aborted, at little or no cost ?

Studies have shown, that those who get a HS education, don't have children out of wed lock , don't do drugs, and stay out of jail, have a far better chance of succeeding in life. And so, since that's the case, isn't it a benefit to ALL minorities that we abort as many babies as possible, so they'll not be burdened withe cost of raising a child ? For those who WANT abortions, of course.

And finally, does it really matter, either way , to the aborted fetus ? They'll get aborted, whether a racist donates the $, or one who truly is looking out for the best interest of all parties ( minus the fetus, of course ).

Discuss.

I would say no. As long we are talking in context of the money being use to payfor abortions which the women has the choice to have is would say no it is not racist because it is helping that women.

Yes, it is racist. It's potentially racist on two levels. First it could be racist because the person is seeking the abortion of black babies in order to engage in some kind of genocide or ethnic cleansing. It could also be racist if the person is seeking to help blacks but denying the same care to other races solely on the basis of race.

Is abortion racist in general? Yes. If a program has a dispraportionate effect on a protected class (blacks) then Federal law will presume that the program or policy is racist. A number of studies have concluded that the abortion rate for black women is as much as five times the average of white women. Based upon the statistics an argument that children are being denied life because of race can be made (or if you want to go the 'it aint life route' then you can argue that providers like Planned Parenthood are at fault for preying on pregnant black women). This raises another Constitutional avenue of attack...once again I thank you all. In fact the percentages are as bad or worse then those that prompted the Court's ban on executions (which has since been overturned in many States due to procedural protections at the State level). Should the opportunity arise I am now confident that I can have Federal protections of abortions overturned and allow the States to regulate the issue as they see fit.

His intent might be racists, but in the end it money would help women get abortions they are seeking.

How so? Racism normally has some element of hatred or superiority. If not something as simple as only considering Black actors to play the part of a famous Black person could be considered racist.

They just want the donation money. They don't discriminate between nut jobs and sincere people. Money is money. There's no racism here except coming from the absurdly obvious crank caller, and the woman handled him like a pro.

I never noticed that peoples INTENTIONS ever had much to do with the results of their ACTIONS.

If you donate to a useful cause with malicious intent behind it, and that cause uses those resources to help people, intent has gone by the wayside, hasn't it ?

Hell, a lot of times I help people, I do it at least in part as a slap in the face to a society I feel has gone sociopathic and demeans altruism as weakness, a great big fuck-you to the Randroids.

Do you think, even for a moment, that someone recieving help really CARES about that, even if I did tell em, that it would MATTER to them ?

Intent means nothing, Behavior means all.

Exactly. This video is just another fallacious hit-piece.

Bang on. What a silly video! You can hear the subtext to the woman's voice "Hooo, kay, you asshole, I get what you're doing, fuck you and do whatever you want. Bye". Was someone actually SERIOUS about this?

Lordy, there are some awfully stupid, sad people in this country...

Oh dear baby buddha, these tactics are really bizarre. So bizarre, I'm kind of thinking 'DT, what have you been up to recently?"

Hijacking some poor receptionist, who is clearly wondering how to get this nutjob off the phone, because you don't antagonise people like that in customer service roles is ridiculous.

I don't know how much works in America. It all seems strange to me, but I can understand targetted funding for minorities. The latest term is 'vulnerable and disadvantages' and yes, I have some concerns around such policies at times.

But using this to demonstrate some batshit argument that the aim of PP is to commit genocide....perlease.

Yes, unfortunately there are "those" kinds of nut jobs in every society, every political party. Unfortunately here, at least at this time in history, they are considerably more....uh, "prominent"? In other words, they're right out there now, all over the place, maybe trying to grab some of the spotlight, who knows? And even more unfortunately, between FauxNews and the internet, they get attention.

Our populace is somewhat less, shall we say "inhibited" at present. I'd like to think we're not always that way compared to other countries, but then I guess better that kind of nut job being acceptable compared to what your opposition party is doing, eh? Our kind of crazy v. your kind of crazy...the more I know of humanity, the more I like my dogs!

Oh lord, we've got nutbags by the shopping trolley. Between the politicans and the media scum. Blah. I just tune out a lot of the time. Don't watch the news very much. Sometimes its easier to hear stuff about what goes on in the US, which doesn't affect me very much to paying attention to the dross here.

I can sure understand that, Magons. Me, hearing the kind of ugliness going on Down Under (or elsewhere, 'cuz you're certainly not alone!) just makes me sadder. I KNOW we're fucked up (especially now), but I guess I like to think the sheer viciousness I see daily in politics here can't be topped elsewhere, y'know?

I also understand your wanting to avoid it all...I gave up watching the news a while ago for the most part, the idiocy I hear on it pisses me off too much!
