I can only hope this corrupt fool of a tool gets punted, though heaven knows what they will replace him with after running Evans out of town on a rail.

This is especially ironic cause Godbee actually GOT the job when his little paramour hump buddy Patterson broke it off with him and jumped in bed with Evans - essentially Evans stole his girlfriend and Godbee got him fired for banging a subordinate even though it was one HE had also been banging for years, and Mayor Bing SHOULD have fired them both or neither, but put out a statement affirming he'd not fire Godbee for this...
They wanted Evans out pretty bad, cause he was not only actually reducing the crime rate (which would deprive them of budget and excuses) he was also rooting out police and judicial corruption, which would have had him on Kym Worthys doorstep with a warrant in short order, so Godbee agrees to play nice and look the other way, and gets promoted instead of fired - office politics at its finest.

And then Godbee goes and starts humping the Internal Affairs (oh that begs a pun!) officer, a relationship which has apparently blown to pieces since that officer, one Angelica Robinson, found themselves caught between the horrific police corruption and her boytoy, and we go all around with this AGAIN.

They best not offer the job to Clayton, his bullshit regarding medical marijuana should be enough to disqualify him from any law enforcement post, much less one of that scale - he essentially said fuck the law and directly stated he was going to bust people anyway even if it was legal, then had some cards run on the SAME MACHINE which produces the real ones and used them for an entrapment scheme - the guys an ass, and has no respect for the law.

Also worth a mention that the Detroit Police have not only robbed the budget dry for their posh casino HQ and high livestyle, leaving fire and EMT understaffed and lacking even functional equipment/vehicles, they're also laboring under a MULTITUDE of consent decrees they completely ignore, and are allowed to ignore cause the folks supposed to hold them responsible have been either in on it (Andy the bullshitter) or otherwise compromised, yanno, like banging the Mayor (Kilpatrick, not Bing) on the side!

Kwame wasn't hammered cause he was corrupt, he got hammered cause he thought he didn't have to kowtow to Worthy, and you see how that went - also her prosecution of Monica Conyers, while wholly justified, had less to do with the housing deal than it did her threat to force impeachment of the shrub, and some of Worthys outstanding property bills being paid by the GOP in compensation for it... and she had the gall to assign a judge ALSO involved in that illegal property deal to judge the case, who was sore pissed that they "bought" him cheaper than Conyers, so that was a real fair trial, yeah.

Ugly nasty bit of business, all of it - and the corruption is so deep and prevalent it crosses all party lines, too.

Also worth a mention, the local high school principal has also been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation - I'll not comment more on that at this time.

One thing which allows me to be so much more blatant in bashing Worthy these past years is the fact that I am outside of her jurisidiction, not that this one doesn't have their own problems - but credit where it's due they did some serious housecleaning about four years ago and there's been improvement ever since.

ETA: She more or less owns all the judges, Byte - has enough blackmail on them to sink one, all and every any time she wants to, plus they were "on-side" to begin with, alas.
I was HOPING the Feds cutting into the money stream would have the guts to move on her after shredding Ficano, but it seems to not be going well cause the Wayne County system being run by the very folk they wanna prosecute, is kinda sabotaging matters while chucking Ficano under the bus.

I'm hoping someone in that little cabal rolls over though, since this is a FEDERAL prosecution, Worthy can't quash it like she does anything local/state - problem so far has been that whatever Feds come here to force compliance or investigate often wind up in on it, or chased out of town right quickly.

Hmm. If the judges are a problem and there's blackmail that could get them off the bench, whats the prosecutor's strength could actually be her weakness. She can't exactly prosecute anything if she has no judges to oversee the cases.
