Beautiful story of a single mom going to Afghanistan and doing something. What a great model she is to the rest of us.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Alas, the other person that this article references... Greg Mortenson Three Cups pf Tea.... turned out to be a complete fraud.

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

One wishes that if people write fiction, they label it as such. The story would still be beautiful.

I don't think Greg Mortenson's alleged misdeeds should cast doubt on what Shannon Galpin is doing.

They are two different people doing very different things.

I don't agree with everything Galpin is doing. But I applaud her caring enough to go and try to make things better to the best of her ability.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Hear, hear, CTS. Knowing the terrain, my jaw dropped at what she did. Amazing woman; screw the other guy, he's got nothing to do with the story except the author's including him, apparently not knowing the truth?

I'm sure she wakes up every morning thanking George W. Bush and the United States military for giving her the opportunity to not be stoned to death for showing her face in Afganistan.

I wonder if Joe Biden will negotiate for the return of her severed head once President Obama cuts his side deal with the Taliban.
