The Members of the Board of Directors and I have decided to shut down PRN as an activist organization because pressure from the US Department of Justice has made it impossible for us to function. I have fought back against the attack on me and PRN but have received no redress in the federal courts; so, the board and I have concluded that we simply cannot continue.

Yet another casualty of The War on(some)Drugs.

Cause, yanno, far be it for me to NOT end every work shift curled into a ball of pain in my wheelchair, to be dehumanized, crippled, by something that's completely treatable if anyone dared.

Yeah, I am seriously pissed off about this, cause there's a helluva lot of folk worse off than me, and most people don't understand how chronic pain can actually do more damage, or how past a certain point with chronic pain sufferers (usually at the exact moment they're told no more relief is coming) suicide becomes inevitable.

And of course, if chronic pain goes on untreated LONG enough, even when the original source is removed, the nerves wind up short-circuited into passing pain information even when there's no longer a source at all, I got two nerves which used to be connected to wisdom teeth which do nothing but scream all day even though the teeth they were connected to have been gone a long time, and the only other option (not covered by my insurance, of course) is to go in there and cut the goddamn nerves, and yanno sometimes I ponder giving that a good old fashioned try my damned self, if that tells you anything.

Try removing several of your own teeth with a jewelers toolkit and no more anesthetic than a single can of malt liquor.. I've DONE THAT, mind you, root and all, and consider that level of pain tolerance, then consider what it takes to leave ME curled into a ball, neh ?

As to what lead to the shutdown of the PRN, here.

This isn't JUST about the problems of misuse, this is also about deliberate and malicious sadism as an extension of power, of control, but the sheer bitter evil of it, to knowingly and intentionally HURT people, just because you can, just to prove your power over others - hell, I don't think even the world evil covers it, inhumane, insentient, perhaps...

I will say this much, you push someone THAT far to the end of their rope, you're asking for trouble, cause what do they have to lose ?

Treadwell better hope some terminal patient in desperate suffering doesn't get some ideas about how to respond to this situation, after all, what HAVE they got to lose, now ?

Go join the Army and volunteer for Afghanistan.

Then you can have all the pain relief you want.

Now quit yer whinin and man-up!

BTW my MD and her MD hubby run a "pain relief" clinic. A local homeowners assn accused them in a newspaper interview of fake prescriptions resulting in drug dealing in the parking lot. MDs sued for $100,000 libel. They have a chiropractor in-house. I don't use them for pain meds, but the gauifenesin prescription is the only valid prescription treatment for "fibromyalgia" (rheumatism, arthritis, calcification), no addiction possible. Then the insurance companies conspired with the drug makers and FDA to allow gaui OTC, which means no insurance company has to pay for it now, costing me $1,000/year.

That's where knowing folk medicine comes in handy, but of course them DEA fuckers are always trying to fuck over any conventional method of supply for that, too.

Was a couple years back, when cases of whatever the hell Morgellons really is started showing up, some folk practitioners found a very remarkably similar condition described in a very old text that predated conventional medicine, and it suggested strong sunlight and "applications of violet water" (known today as Lugol's Iodine) as a treatment or abatement...

And no sooner did some of the folk who tried it suggested it helped, WHAM, the fekkin DEA comes in and schedules it a precursor...
Quote:

However, effective August 1, 2007, the DEA now regulates Lugol's solution (and, in fact, all iodine solutions containing greater than 2.2% iodine) as a List I precursor because it may potentially be used in the illicit production of methamphetamine. However, transactions of up to one fluid ounce (30 ml) of Lugol's solution are exempt from this regulation. By contrast, Lugol's iodine solution is available over the counter in Canada and Mexico.

Which was downright decidedly bizarre, because their excuse makes NO sense, and other more effective means are unregulated, so it had more to do with Big Pharma not makin bank on it than it did with any other reason.

It's insanity, next thing you know you'll have Bayer suing A&W - but of course you'd have to know some folk medicine to even get that joke.

DREAMTROVE

Frem,

The logical conclusion of following the NWO plan for us is that we rapidly get sick and die.

The logical conclusion of following their economic plan for us is that we work 80 hours a week for a net of no pay.

Seems that we get two things from this system: They work us all of our waking hours, and then they kill us.

Given that, I'm open to alternative plans, because this official plan seems to have issues.

ETA: I forgot to mention my appreciation for the acronym PRN. kudos.

That's silly.

Happy China workers get 20 cents an hour and live free at the Walmart Disney factory.

Workers aren't killed, only their 2nd born babies.

Damned conspiracy theories.
