Scarborough suspended from MSNBC for giving money to candidates without notifying management beforehand.

As with Olbermann, they may have the RIGHT to do this - suspend him, fire him, etc. - but I'm hoping they won't. I don't care for Scarborough, but I support his right to give to the candidates of his choice.

I remember what Colbert said about Jon Stewart in an interview after Colbert had left The Daily Show. He said he didn't really have any politics of his own, but when Stewart took over the show after Craig Kilborn's departure, his one instruction to the staff and the correspondents was that he didn't care what their political point of view was, only that they have one.

Seems odd to expect someone to comment on politics without having a point of view about the stuff they make a living commenting on.

Hopefully there's another petition floating around in support of Scarborough. As I said, I don't care for him, yet I'd happily sign a petition to put him back to work.

ETA: No petition that I can find, but the suspension has been announced to be for two days only, same as Olbermann got. I guess that makes it about as "fair" as it can be for such a situation.

The Olbermann stunt was just that. A cheap publicity stunt, played to the hilt by " management" , to help save their pathetic excuse of a cable network.

Scarborough was an actual US Congressman. Please, this is getting beyond inane.

They probably got a lot of flack because Olbermann was suspended when there are probably others (well, obviously at least one other) who did the same thing. It's absurd.
