Arrested in a hotel room with a 16-year-old girl who told police she was brought there to have sex with him for $300. Now he's arrested for raping the girl.

This is all still breaking, but it doesn't look like any way it works out is going to be good for LT.

I admire pro athletes for their physical prowess, but it's the folks who tell them they are so special that the rules don't apply to them that gets them in these situations. Sorry, guys, but even if you can run fast and catch a ball, you can't violate the rules. I'm kind'a hoping Ben Roethlisberger will find this out. maybe 5 to 10 years for assault or rape will eventually get his attention.

Yanno, I never quite understood why folk are willin to pay good money for something a little respect, some social skills, and a sense of humor will get em for free - and I *really* don't understand the desire to make it with someone too young to have 'skillz' or appreciate your own, but you know what ?

If you're gonna do that, and especially if you're a celebrity or politician, don't go cheap on it - it ain't the sex you're paying for, it's for them to keep their damn mouth SHUT when they ain't using it on you, and put away a little bit besides, just in case - cause if they do show any inclination to talk... *have them whacked*!
And do it between them accusing you, and actually providing any evidence, trust me, the NEXT bimbo will get the point, believe it.

If yer gonna do evil, the LEAST one should do is try to be competent about it.

Actually no, John.

In Mr. Taylors case, a goodly part of the reason he was such a good linebacker was that it was kind of a family business and he had an excellent mentor.

His mother.

Yep, that's right, his mom (who would be SO slappin him upside the head right now) was a linebacker for the florida dandelions, a womens football team.

Still, that don't buy him no cred with me when it comes to off the field behavior, and there are VERY few NFL players in recent history who I have any respect for off the field - and since we're on that topic, I guess they deserve a mention here.

Randall Cunningham, a nicer guy you'd be hard pressed to find, who went off to sign autographs when benched from a tough game when he was struggling - and would often stop his limo, and get out and walk with his fans, signing autographs and the like, even in the pouring rain, plus his willingness to carry the team any way he could, without blaming, and without complaint, even punting the ball once himself, and oddly enough for the third longest one in NFL history, a real sportsman.

Jim McMahon, who after being smacked with a fine for not wearing his headband reversed, since the company who made it didn't pay the big bribe for NFL "sponsorship", and after mocking Rozell by wearing a headband with HIS name on it, daring the old codger to fine him, decided that if his headband was gonna draw so much attention, then he was gonna put it to good use, and started sporting the logos of various charitable orgs, one of which was for a juvenille diabetes research effort (Rozell then snorted and pretended to ignore this) - to turn a screwup and a snark into a good cause, that was class.

And damned if I remember who it was, but one player, fined for tossing a game ball to fans after a TD (and this is an asinine practice to fine, good heavens they can bring extra balls, it's not like they're poor, and it makes the fans happy!) shortly thereafter, scored another TD, and spotting a fan in a wheelchair, walked right up to em and HANDED them the gameball, staring right into the camera daring the management to say something about it - that was way cool of him.

It ain't just talent, cause if talent was a free pass, Dion Sanders wouldn't be considered such a schmuck, it's how you CONDUCT yourself, and Lawrence has failed badly here as a person, and a sportsman.

Beyond that it ain't my biz or concern, that's between him and the law, and makin a spectacle out of it ain't a lot better than what he did, you ask me.
