I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Interesting.

There's a big article in C&E News about how pharma is targeting beta-amyloid for treatment, although there is no conclusive proof that it it causes Alzheimer's, and SOME indication that it serves as a protective agent.

These drugs are in the trial stage- not marketed yet- but considering the amount of money the pharmas invested in this line of research I expect all of the studies to be skewed heavily in favor. (Usually the pharmas pay a university to run the trials, but if they don't like the data... as its owners they're free to junk it. And KEEP junking it until they get the test they like!) If it were me, I wouldn't willingly take them.

That was my take on it, too.

Interestingly, some empirical research of mine - easy enough given family tradition, is that playing video games seems to have a mitigating effect on the indignities of old age, alzhemiers and other conditions among them - probably cause it keeps certain mental and reflexive processes so active, maybe it's a use it or lose it kinda thing, I dunno.

I *do* know that takin on Granny at COMBAT on her Atari 2600 was askin to have your ass seriously handed to you - she could calculate the angles for a perfect deflection shot right up to the end, even if she couldn't find her keys five minutes after putting them down.
