Yes, Murdoch and FauxNews again. Consider it my ongoing campaign to educate those who don't "get it" about Clusterfox. This time by his own words. Yeah, I know, I like pissing into the wind and getting it all over myself: sue me.

He says they shouldn't be promoting the Tea Party movement, yet there are myriad videos showing they did just that. On the very day he said this, their own "employee", Palin, was out stumping for the Tea Party.

He agrees that Glenn Beck was right when he called Obama a racist.

He defends making his Wall Street Journal a "pay-per-view" internet site, and says he intends to do more with his other "news" services.

Fox News has promoted the Tea Party movement since it was born. If it’s against the Obama administration, they support it. Apparently, Rupert Murdoch’s selective memory has kicked in again.

Now Murdoch says Fox should not be supporting the movement, but adds:
Quote:

“No. I don’t think we should be supporting the Tea Party or any other party. But I’d like to investigate what you are saying before condemning anyone.”

Mr Murdoch does not need to investigate too long. He can simply Google “Fox News promoting the Tea Party” and he’ll see a lot of evidence:

While at Davos, Rupert Murdoch discusses the rise of the Internet and digital media, and tells us he used News Corp. to manipulate the news.

Asked if his News Corp. managed to shape the agenda on the war in Iraq, Murdoch said: "No, I don't think so. We tried." Asked by Rose for further comment, he said: "We basically supported the Bush policy in the Middle East."

Murdoch Agrees With Beck That Obama Is A Racist

Fox News host Glenn Beck was wrong when he called President Obama a racist this summer, so I'm not sure why his boss, Rupert Murdoch, repeated the silly allegation only to have his spokesperson backtrack.

Advertisers began withdrawing their ads from Beck's show after his remarks. Maybe that's why a Murdoch spokesperson began backtracking:

"He does not at all, for a minute, think the president is a racist," News Corp. spokesperson Gary Ginsberg told Politico.

Rupert Murdoch Defends Charging on Internet and Challenges Fair Use

When challenged that his news organisations could just remove themselves from the search engines, he said "I think we will. But that's when we start charging. We do it already with the Wall Street Journal. We have a wall but its not right to the ceiling, you get the first paragraph of each story. If you are not a paying subscriber of WSJ.com you get a paragraph and a subscription form.

Was this WSJ model what we can expect to see in other online publications? "Maybe, maybe. There's a doctrine called 'fair use', which we believe could be challenged in the courts and bar it all together. But it's ok, we are getting a lot of advertising revenue so we will take that slowly."

The doctrine of fair use defines the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair, such as news reporting, and is a content gathering cornerstone for most mainstream media, including publications owned by Mr Murdoch.

This is the guy so many find "fair and balanced"??

I'm trying to fathom how you could accomplish this...So far it involves a chair and contortions that I'm not sure are humanly possible.

Rupert Murdoch. Well, um, look up "troll" in the encyclopedia mythica, see if he has any weaknesses. That's my suggestion.

That's primarily a plumbing issue, Byte - more of a guy thing, whizzin into a high wind is generally a bad idea, as is (and one of my drunken idiot friends can tell you!) whizzing through a fence you didn't know was running an electrical keep-away charge at the time.

Ouch.

Cute, Byte. It's a phrase, but you knew that. I DO hurt for Frem's friend, that must have been a real shock (pun intended)!

However, I do think you're giving trolls all over a bad name; Murdoch doesn't deserve even THAT mild a description!
