Yes, I put up a thread on it before, but it's become an issue, finally. It's getting play, and attention. Here's a concise More on Republican hypocrisy (and note he praises her for bringing FACTS to the table):

This is the hypocrisy in a nutshell. Here's further on the idiocy of them being for, or even co-sponsoring, issues, then reversing themselves when Obama goes along:

She updated it last night:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#35450631

Someone posted that the Republicans shouldn't vote for things they don't believe in. As can be seen in video #2, they are voting against things they DID or DO believe in. So they're not obstructionists? They're not voting against even their own consciences just because Obama is agreeing to it?

What other arguments there are against the things Obama has done/is doing, the hypocrisy is undeniable. They don't care what we think, but an article appearing in a hometown newspaper IS embarrassing to a representative, and the possibility it will be brought up at C-PAC is definitely interesting.

Is this like Obama ranting against the Bush policie which he himself voted for, all 18 months he was in the Senate ,before he started his White House campaign bid ?

Is this anything like Evan Bayh, who lambasted Congress for the things he himself was guilty of participating in ?

No, you'll just focus on the Republicans, and ignore the bigger issue. The massive spending by the Federal Gov't, while only blaming those who fit your own agenda.

Latest CBS/NY Times Poll (certainly not a Conservative group) shows only 6% of Americans believe the Stimulus created any jobs. That's on page 7. The other 15 pages are just chock full of interesting results.

Personally, I think they don't believe it created any jobs because of the railing by Republicans that it didn't. If this hypocrisy gets enough play, let's see how they feel THEN. The dissing of the stim, added to the railing about the debt it has produced, is in my opinion what is driving people's opinions. Let's have them hear about the Republicans going home and taking credit for the money they voted against--and even NOW running it into the ground (AFTER they took credit for it!), and see what happens.

As the commentator said, I have no disagreement with voting against stimulus money, then doing the best you can with it once it passes. But these guys ASKED for money, then took credit for it or lauded it for the jobs created without ever admitting the money was from the stim. That's hypocrisy.

As I said, generically they don't care what we think, but if other hometown newspapers like that one start raising the question, it could be a different matter.

I found all the other poll numbers most interesting, you're right.

Niki, when it comes to pure "pork", they're all the damn same. They all talk against it, then they load up bills with special home pork projects. Republicans are certainly being two-faced on this, but the lack of job creation in the private sector is what has most Americans concerned. The $787 billion bill, of which $500 billion has yet to be spent, sent cash to every state. Us poor slobs also got a tax cut, although mine was about $3. Repubs will rope-a-dope their way thru this until the next issue battle begins.

McCain ran on a zero earmark platform for his campaign. It wasn't just words, either, as I recall. He's never voted for or accepted an earmark himself.

( And if he has, the number is next to zero )

I can't disagree with what you say, JS, but it would be nice to get some of the most objectionable pork out of health care reform, wouldn't it? Even John McCain, famous for his "anti-pork" stance, has sought pork on a few occasions, such as his 2006 legislation that asked for $10-million for an academic center at the University of Arizona to honor the late Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist, or McCain's 2003 effort to use federal funds to buy property to create a buffer zone around Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, or his 1992 request that the Environmental Protection Agency provide $5-million toward a wastewater project in Nogales, Ariz. ( http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/sep/16/mccains-po
rk-project
/)

So you're right, nobody's exempt, even the guy most famous for speaking out against it.
