Andrew Wakefield, Scientific Censorship, and Fourteen Monkeys

Quote:

Dr. Wakefield is the co-author, along with eight other distinguished scientists from institutions like the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Washington, of a set of studies that explore the topic of vaccinated versus unvaccinated neurological outcomes using monkeys.

The first phase of this monkey study was published three months ago in the prestigious medical journal Neurotoxicology, and focused on the first two weeks of life when the vaccinated monkeys received a single vaccine for Hepatitis B, mimicking the U.S. vaccine schedule. The results, which you can read for yourself here, were disturbing. Vaccinated monkeys, unlike their unvaccinated peers, suffered the loss of many reflexes that are critical for survival.

Dr. Wakefield and his scientific colleagues are on the brink of publishing their entire study, which followed the monkeys through the U.S. childhood vaccine schedule over a multi-year period. It is our understanding that the difference in outcome for the vaccinated monkeys versus the unvaccinated controls is both stark and devastating.

The U.S. vaccine schedule has grown from 10 vaccines given to our children in the 1980s to 36 today, perfectly matching the dramatic rise in autism.

Ooh.

Well, I'm going to be very interested in looking at these reports. The thing people don't realize, there aren't "healthy" chemicals and "unhealthy" chemicals, there's chemicals period and dose. A person makes too much of some protein, that could be fatal, person drinks too much water, that could be fatal. Stands to reason we might not want to be mucking around introducing unnatural chemicals into our systems when many pathways and receptors still appear to be poorly understood in their entirety.

That said, while there can be SOME comparison/analogy derived from looking at animal studies to the effects on humans, I can already see a potential flaw here in that some chemicals may not behave the same way in some animals that they do in humans. For example, humans tend to be unusually resistant to the effects of salts (and metal ions from derived from dissolved salts) compared to other primates. That plus the whole Fish Oil/Omega 3s requirement in our diets has made some people wonder whether humans arose less on the savannah and more on the coasts of Africa.

Hmm.

Dunno, sounds like he's run into credibility issues before. Then again, this could be a smear campaign by pharmaceuticals and other organizations reliant on thimerosol lashing out against anything says their vaccines aren't safe. Science is so easily biased one way or another. You hope people were in earnest trying to duplicate the results, but what's to say whether a study is accepted as scientifically valid versus discredited? You could have people massaging what they're accepting as significant correlation values, saying there's no correlation when there is. Ah, statistics.

I've noticed a distinct trend of prioritizing vaccines versus questioning safety among medical authorities.

Allegations of pre-selecting subjects. There's an easy way to check this. Read the actual report, and see if the control group and test group have reasonable standards of deviation.

Edit: I've just been checking the opposition people in various articles that I've read on this today. One expert cited, a Gary Freed, was a chairperson for a research unit called CHEAR in Michigan. Chear published this study that calls "to prompt providers regarding influenza vaccination among children with high-risk conditions such as asthma." Which to me reads that they're saying the hell if they have asthma or are an at risk group, vaccinate them anyway.

Both sides may have an agenda.

FREMDFIRMA

Well, it's not just Thimerosal or other preservatives, apparently the Adjuvants were more primarily responsible for a lot of the neuro damage, and the effects individually have been looked at, but no reliable studies currently exist because everyone involved seems to have an agenda.

And when you have the substantial evidence against each individually, but no data on what the combination of two probably-harmful factors might cause, it does give some cause to be leery.

That said, some of the more recent flu vaccines came without adjuvants and could be requested in a single dose that did not contain Thimerosal. (which many vaccs continue to use despite it supposedly being removed/banned)

Of course, the effectiveness and actual need for many of those vaccines has also been called into question, particularly the Swine Flu fiasco which was more about marketing than public safety in the first damned place, and obviously so.

If the FDA hadn't spiked their own credibility by being a propaganda arm of Big Pharma these last ten years or so, they might actually be useful, but it's gonna be one hell of an uphill battle for them to ever get any credibility back in light of their behavior, and it's much the same with the CDC.

I'm still a bit pissed over the Gardasil nightmare, and only slightly mollified that the Swine Flu marketing push didn't get swallowed whole the same way and did not result in the same level of epic carnage.

But I ask you, what good does that do the young girls who's nervous systems were permanently damaged ?

I'd like to see some non-partisan studies that aren't run by folk with an agenda, using proper scientific method, myself - but I don't see it happening any time soon, the industry still has it's hooks deep into the FDA/CDC/AMA, and those set against them are still too angry about all the damage and casualties to be any kind of reasonable about it.

About all you can do is refuse to let someone else make your risk assessments for you, do your own research and make your own decision.

Caveat Emptor.

Smear disinfo. His original censored report in Lancet is linked above.

Quote:

Dr. Andrew Wakefield is being discredited to prevent an historic study from being published that for the first time looks at vaccinated versus unvaccinated primates and compares health outcomes, with potentially devastating consequences for vaccine makers and public health officials.

It is our most sincere belief that Dr. Wakefield and parents of children with autism around the world are being subjected to a remarkable media campaign engineered by vaccine manufacturers reporting on the retraction of a paper published in The Lancet in 1998 by Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues.

The retraction from The Lancet was a response to a ruling from England's General Medical Council, a kangaroo court where public health officials in the pocket of vaccine makers served as judge and jury. Dr. Wakefield strenuously denies all the findings of the GMC and plans a vigorous appeal.

Despite rampant misreporting, Dr. Wakefield's original paper regarding 12 children with severe bowel disease and autism never rendered any judgment whatsoever on whether or not vaccines cause autism, and The Lancet's retraction gets us no closer to understanding this complex issue.

Dr. Wakefield is one of the world's most respected and well-published gastroenterologists. He has published dozens of papers since 1998 in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals all over the world. His work documenting the bowel disease of children with autism and his exploration of novel ways to treat bowel disease has helped relieve the pain and suffering of thousands of children with autism.
