DREAMTROVE

Adolph Hitler ran on the national socialist ticket, the merger of the german nationalists and the socialist workers from which the future fuhrer had come. He lost the election resoundingly, getting only around 33% of the vote to the conservative candidate Hindenburg, who then was retained as Chancellor of Germany.

Hitler then seized power by killing his political opponents until he had enough parliamentary support to declare Hindenburg incapable of ruling and forced him out of office. Hindenburg's signature on his resignation of power was at best a formality, at worst a forgery.

The analysis that international bankers, many of them jewish, were largely responsible for WWI was and still is widely held, and is probably the majority opinion. These people were not specifically targeted in the holocaust, and few if any were Poles, Ukrainians, Gypsies or Serbs, so I fail to see the connection in the real world.

If anything, the only logical connection is this one:

Bad people caused a war. A lot of 'em bad people was jews. Look, over there. some Jews. Kill!

I think that I've heard this logic quite recently:
Bad people caused some terrorism. A lot of 'em bad people was muslims. Oh look, over there, some muslims. Kill!
