I thought it sounded more like Olbermann.

Guess it would have gone better if they'd both been in on it...

"This guy's an asshole."

"Oh yeah. Big time."

Funny, no one on the Left sees this as racist, after all the false bullshit y'all raised over the innocent cartoon of the cops shooting a crazy chimp.

Mathews had the nerve to claim the GOP " outsourced " their response by getting Jindal, an " outsider " and Governor of Louisiana. ( Overlooking the fact that Jindal was a Congressman ) Gee, what country has benefited most from the so called " outsourcing " of U.S. jobs ? Hmmmm.....probably no other country than India. And where is it that Bobby Jindal's parents are from again?

Riiiight.

Mathews is a racist dirt bag, and anyone who doesn't see it is just as much a racist dirt bag.

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

A concern of the GOP is that the people aren't informed enough to understand their policies, while a fear of the Dems is that the people ARE.

According to you and Hero, that's not racism "what so ever". India isn't a race; it's a nation. Right?

It's racism, pure and simple. Stop being such a blind partisan and just own up to this one.

India is where Bobby Jindal's parents are from. Folks there are generally of a darker skin color than say, those living in the U.S w/ ancestors from W. Europe.

Also, India benefited from the majority of those " outsourced jobs " the Left goes on and on about, so it was no mistake or coincidence that Mathews used that word, to imply that only the GOP outsourced jobs to Inida, and now they were doing the same w/ their political response to Obama.

It was cheap and tactless and quite frankly, down right racist.

Matthews didn't say it directly, but it was a clear word choice, snuck in for subliminal appeal.

Oh, that's low. You're right. I don't know if Matthews is the left, he's sort of their pet republican, unless he changed back to being a democrat again. That's just really bad.

Dream,

Matthews never was any SORT of Republican. He claims he supported Barry Goldwater, but he actually WORKED for not 1, not 2, not 3, but count 'em 4 members of Congress, RAN for Congress as a Democrat, wrote speeches for Jimmy ( the worthless one ) Carter and was a top aid to Tip O'Neil.

But in an earlier discussion, you defended the use of "towel-head" and "camel jockey" against Muslims, and then insisted that it's not "racist" because Islam isn't a race. I hate to inform you, but BY YOUR OWN STANDARDS Matthews's comments weren't "racist". "Indian from India" isn't a race - it's a nationality. What's his race? Brown?

And oh, by the way, your comment about me having to "own it"? How do you figure? I'm not the one who said it.

What I'm trying to figure out is this: Why is it okay to besmirch an entire religion such as Islam, or an entire nation such as Iran, but it's "down right racist" to do anything similar to a nation such as India or a religion such as Hinduism (and Jindal is allegedly a Roman Catholic, but you better watch out - he just might be a Muslim!).

How is one such incident racist and another not, based entirely on the party affiliation of the one saying it?

Rap,

He said on his show that he cashed in his dem card after waco. He even stuck with bush at the beginning, and then drifted away, as I did, I thought he was often pretty close to reason. I have very little tolerance for that sort of xenophobia though.
