I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

This gets me into the thread

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

Torture was always only a tool for bad guys, you just missed the part where we were the bad guys.

I never heard about any good guys getting tortured, unless you are saying Khalid Shaikh Mohammed is a good guy.

John McCain is a bad guy then. Okay, maybe. But the fact is, a lot of people get tortured when torture is the rule. The brits admitted to torturing random Iraqi children to death and near-death, dismembering them, etc., and doing it for kicks. In testimony they said: We knew they hadn't done anything, we just didn't care. Our captives were always about to die on us, and so we just chucked them out of the back of the truck and grabbed some new ones.

And yeah, those forces were under the command of our coalition of the willing. Now, that said, you're going to tell me that Pol Pot, whose guys tortured a school of 30,000 to death, those guys just got what was coming to them, how about the VC, Zanu-PF, the RUF, Soviets? Nazis? Yeah, no one ever got tortured unless they deserved it. Follow that logic.

Signy you threat-itor. Go remove the instructions before the bagel boy wakes up.

Obama's executive order hasn't really changed anything. He's just doing what liberals always do, a feel good move to delude themselves into thinking they're doing something when in reality it's just business as usual.

"The unfine print of Mr. Obama's order is that he's allowed room for what might be called a Jack Bauer exception."

And you really believe that.
Lemme take a stab here; you failed History in High School.
'Cause you're failing present day history right now.

Actually ole KSM was a pretty useful resource, right up TILL we waterboarded him - crazy ole bastard loved to talk shit, and dropped many useful bits in by the book non-physical interrogation, corroborated by proper evidence secured by a legal warrant served in traditional fashion.

And all that evidence was for reasons I'll decline to speculate, rather deliberately ignored till some of the things in it came and bit us on the ass.

Then we started waterboarding his ass and he started making shit up and confessing to stuff he not only didn't do, but could not have done, or that someone else had already been proven to do, tried convicted and sentenced for.

And due to that he's no longer any kind of useful as a resource, only propaganda.

Going hands-on is the clearest sign of an utterly incompetent interrogator, period.

It cannot be said enough, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to endlessly repeat it
