While i understand that a lot of the more right-wing posters on this board were none too happy about Obama winning the election, this guy seems to have taken things a touch too far:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7771937.stm

Okay, i get the idea behind this (if he wasn't born in your country he can't lead your government)i can't say i wholly agree with it (i mean if he was raised in the US and has had the same values instilled in him as the rest of your country, the whole 'life, liberty and pursuit of happiness' thing then doesn't that make him just as much an American as any one else?) but hey, it's your constitution.
The thing i don't get is the spirit behind the motion. Speaking as a Brit here, when Obama was elected there was a rush of feeling certainly where i was and probably elsewhere if i'm any judge, that maybe there was some hope for Americans after all. That maybe, just maybe you weren't all a bunch of psychotic, warmongering simpletons that we had seen time and again on the news and in the actions of the Bush administration. So i have a little trouble understanding why people keep coming up with these half-arsed attempts to try and undo all of that newly found (and still rather cautious) goodwill towards your nation, especially since for the past eight years you've been regarded with a mixture of scorn and ridicule by much of the rest of the world.

"A thinking tyrant, it seemed to Vetinari, had a much harder job than a ruler raised to power by some idiot system like democracy. At least he could tell the people he was their fault."

First off Bush and soon Barry are OUR Presidents not yours, you sound like the rest of the world has given us your blessings. As a proud Right-Wing whacko, I do'nt give a rats ass what the rest of the world thinks of us. (U.S.) I do'nt like Barry because I think he's an empty suit and a far Left-Winger. You're lucky I'm a Simon Pegg fan, so I'm not going to say somthing bad about your country.

Court won't review Obama's eligibility to serve
By Tim Jones | Tribune correspondent
10:16 AM EST, December 8, 2008
UPDATE: The Supreme Court has turned down an emergency appeal from a New Jersey man who says President-elect Barack Obama is ineligible to be president because he was a British subject at birth.

The court did not comment on its order Monday rejecting the call by Leo Donofrio of East Brunswick, N.J., to intervene in the presidential election. Donofrio says that since Obama had dual nationality at birth -- his mother was American and his Kenyan father at the time was a British subject -- he cannot possibly be a "natural born citizen," one of the requirements the Constitution lists for eligibility to be president.

Donofrio also contends that two other candidates, Republican John McCain and Socialist Workers candidate Roger Calero, also are not natural-born citizens and thus ineligible to be president.

At least one other appeal over Obama's citizenship remains at the court. Philip J. Berg of Lafayette Hill, Pa., argues that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii as Obama says and the Hawaii secretary of state has confirmed. Berg says Obama also may be a citizen of Indonesia, where he lived as a boy. Federal courts in Pennsylvania have dismissed Berg's lawsuit.

Berg's case will also likely be dismissed.

I'm sure this will all go away now.......NOT! Remember that so called film footage of Bush dancing naked on the bar in College? Larry Flint and others looked for that for years. Personally, I think Barry may be a Terminator.

Glad you held out some hope for that... Seriously, you saw it on the news and almost everywhere because it sold a lot of papers, made a lot of media outlets a lot of pound sterling. Selling US hatred made the UK populace feel better about themsleves and they couldn't get enough. When I was there in 2007 it was pretty shocking.

I don't expect it to go away. There will always be a few deluded nutcases whining about it. It will just be irrelevant, along with the people who promote it.

DREAMTROVE

President is a position of no power. Bush taught us that, if we didn't already know. Obama is going to learn it soon. No one should care.

Anyone who thinks Obama is left wing has been paying no attention at all. Obama has consistantly said that he wants to be the next Ronald Reagan, and everything he does is in line with this. Sure, maybe now that's left wing :)

But seriously, does it matter?

I'm much more concerned that all the neocon globalists and the clintonistas are still in the back room giving advice, just as they've been doing for the last 20-30 years at an increasing rate.

Ah, those things we cannot change, we should just bury.

The highlight of this whole thing for me has been "Hyde Park tourism." No offense to everyone else who has lived there and been shot at there, but this place is a hell hole. Obama doesn't need that security because he is running for president, he needs it because he lives in hyde park. But my absolutely favorite part was where groupies are flocking to Manny's and esp. "Volloy's See your food." Probably the two worst restaurants in America. I like the obama merchandizing as well. This is all very entertaining. Very little hope, a whole lot of audacity, but entertaining. I like the guy, btw, he's aimiable, and intelligent. That gives him two up on the current puppet. I just hope he realizes that he's the new puppet before one of the insiders decides he's out of line and pulls a kennedy on him. If it happens, you all know I've got my list of one suspect, and looks like she's going to be Secretary of State. If you have a God, pray for some scandal to prevent that confirmation. That woman representing america to the world? Hell, I'd rather have GW Bush. Hell, I'd rather have Joe the Plummer. I mean, if that's going to be america's face, we might as well show some plummer crack instead.
