Saying "crooked" politician is a redundancy, you know.

Both parties are hopelessly corrupt and Jefferson was most definately a bad egg who needed to go, sure.

Rather than being, as usual, ridiculously partisan about something like this, why not celebrate dumping a PROVEN crook out of office ?

Believe me, for all that I hate the GOP since it's crapped on it's own core principles, I'd not be sorry to see ole Barney kicked out of office neither.

We definately need more stringent ethics policies and process for removal, you ask me.

What amazes me is that there were 47% of folks who still voted for this dirt bag. $90K in his freezer !

What do we expect ? They re-elected " Chocolate City" Nagin.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

That's one down and about 500 in Congress to go, and about 50 political appointees. At the Federal level. And it gets even more venal and corrupt the more local you go.

Sigh.

We need a bigger broom.

Maybe if the GOP didn't offer such obviously slimy, immoral and mentally deranged candidates, that problem would go away, Rappy.

People vote for obvious scum (like mayor Kilpatrick) only when the alternative choice is someone they perceive to be even worse.

Shit rolls downhill, dude, and all that buSHit rolled on down and covered everyone in the GOP with slime - gonna take a lotta scrubbing to get it off, and that's a fact.

Of course, simple, factual realities like that not being welcome in your little plastic bubble, I waste my breath speaking directly to you, but the benefits of embarassing you and the vile cretins you supported cannot be denied regardless.

Dude, Jefferson is a Democrat. Same w/ Kilpatrick the black Irishman from Detroit. Spare me " well, the other guy was OBVIOUSLY worse" bullshit, it's more about race and culture than anything else. Liberal BLack guy wins, anyone else need no apply in some places. Bunch of B.S , is what it is.

Oh, that's right, you live in DELUSION world, where nothing ever happens to Democrats, because they're as pure as the wind driven snow .

Idiot.

Keep the Shiny side up

Also note that this is the first time a Vietnamese-American has been elected to Congress. With an Indian-American governor and now a Vietnamese-American congressman, Louisiana Republicans seem to be leaving racist politics behind.

Seems to me that it doesn't matter the ideology of the politicians because whoever is behind the wheel belongs to the same fraternity - democrat or republican is just a smoke screen for what really goes on behind closed doors.

The big political machinery-monster drives this country and us poor schmucks who "vote" for "our" candidate fall for all the hooey. Am I being too cynical?, I could never tell.

There may be a handful that actually try to make a difference but, for the most part, the elite boys club (which BTW is starting to recruit the girls - Palin and Hilary) have been running things for quite some time. Papa Bush and the like, Clinton, Cheney, Rumsfeld. Colin Powell has been excluded I think, but notice how these same guys keep showing up to the dance. It is not a coincidence. Remember when Papa Bush and Bill Clinton got together for some bullshit cause?

And here we are arguing who's better Dems or Republicans. We need to start putting the politicos feet to the fire and making 'em sweat.
These Reps should be working for the common good, not to herd us toward the cliff face. Bailout my muscular buttocks. The rich get richer!

Who doesn't have $90,000 in their freezer?

Comes standard with an ice maker/water dispenser.

Frozen assets are very popular these days...ask the Jihadists.

Ask the Jihadists - more commonly referred to as "Mujahiddeen" (remember them? Reagan's beloved "freedom fighters"?). Ask them what, exactly? Where they got their money? From us, of course, the good ol' U S of Fuckin-A! At least that's where a good chunk of it came from, courtesy of the alphabet goons.

Where Jefferson really went wrong was keeping the cash in... well, CASH form. He shoulda sunk it into "home improvements", like Ted Stevens did.

Oh, wait. That didn't work out too well, either, did it?
