Ellsberg ties FBI to King shooting

By John Moulton, Knoxville News-Sentinel, Nov 12, 1978

MEMPHIS --A notarized statement by Daniel Ellsberg, released to The News-Sentinel Saturday night by James Earl Ray's attorney, Mark Lane, states flatly that an aide to UN Ambassador Andrew Young told Ellsberg, "We know there was a conspiracy (to kill Dr. Martin Luther King) and we know who did it."

Ellsberg's affidavit claims he was told there was definitely FBI involvement in the murder.

Lane said the 44-page affidavit by Ellsberg, who gained worldwide attention by leaking the now-famed Pentagon Papers secrets, will be one of the chief pieces of evidence used in seeking a new trial for Ray.

The completed text of the affidavit was signed and notarized in San Francisco Oct. 20.

Sounds like somebody got another 'death squad' speeding ticket...was the Queen involved this time?

Oh, King was killed on April 4th, not January 21st.

Yanno, what flakes me is why anyone would assume, given the history of our alphabet agencies, and especially the HOW of COINTELPRO's exposure (here's a hint folks, it damn sure wasn't FOIA requests!) that these bastards ever STOP doing this crap - that even now they're not doing even stupider shit than TP-AJAX which is gonna boomerang on us for thirty MORE years ?

Especially in light of the fact that they were ramping up their illegal surveillance of americans for seven months prior to 9-11.

You wanna stop terrorism in this county, bomb Langley, not Tikrit.

If the FBI or any other Govt. agency had wanted to kill Dr. King they would have done it long before 1968.

The marches in Selma, Montgomery, and the march on Washington ( I Have A Dream speech) all took place before 1963.

There was absolutely no reason to kill King in 1968. Presdident Johnson had signed into Law the Civil Rights Act back in 1964.

African-Americans were growing increasingly more violent after all that Civil Rights stuff that King & Johnson championed, and by 1966 we had the riots in Watts, then in 1967 the riots in Detroit...there was a new movement under way, spearheaded by the more radical and violent Black Panthers and other groups....Dr. King was almost an outsider and a relic by then. His killing set off riots all over America... I remember as a 15 year old kid how all us little suburban white kids were frikkin' terrified as to what was going on...."we can't go to the mall, the negroes are running wild!!!" King's killing was a tragic, stupid act committed by a racist trogladyte. That ridiculous crime set back race relations in this country by 30 years, and practically undermined all the progress & "good will" that King had acheived.

No I got that, this is Frem we are talking about, he couldn't read the weather report without sliding that in someplace. I was hoping for something more specific.

I think he's arguing the the FBI and the CIA wanted to stop the NAACP and SCLC from exposing the plot to subvert the efforts towards racial concilliation by the TVA, SSB, and FTP using loans guarranteed by the the FDIC to secretly fund the PRRA broadcasts to Cuba advertising CAA's secret flights to fund Castro's murder under the authority of COMSUBPAC's Project MAJESTIC and the Kennedy Assanation by Queen Elizabeth's Tennessee State Trooper SS Death Squads.

Makes perfect sense to me. Throw in a satanic pedophile bit and you've got yourself crazytalk alphabet soup.

COINTELPRO was exposed, after repeated denials that such programs even existed, by a group of citizens who illegally broke into an FBI office, stole the relevant files, and managed to put them in the hands of some un-subverted members of the press.

That lead to the Church Committee hearings, which made it clear as day that the primary threat to the american people and the stability of our country was not, in fact communism, terrorism, trade unions or anarchists, but rather our own intelligence agencies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_Committee

It made it DAMN clear that this was the case.

And what you are witnessing in Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan is a DIRECT result of operation TP-AJAX, a co-operative venture between the US and the UK to destabilise the region by assassinating Mohammed Mossedeigh and installing a US-friendly dictator-tyrant called The Shah, and his murderous secret police called SAVAK, which were so hated, that eventually a radicalized branch of Islamic fanatics roused the people as a whole and sent him and his ass packing.

They then replaced him with Ayatolla Khomeni, who, for damn good and obvious reasons did not like us very much, which we responded to by using Saddam Hussien as a proxy, supporting his regime and goading him into a war with Iran.

We also destabilised Afghanistan, provoking the Soviets to invade where the Mujahadeen, led in part by Osama Bin Laden (aka: Tim Osman to his CIA handlers) could bleed them dry for us without getting our own hands dirty.

And of course, once they did our dirty work, we left them hanging out to dry, just like we did the Kurds every time we encouraged them to stand up to Saddam, and get slaughtered when we failed to back them up like we promised - seems they're all just a LITTLE BIT pissed about that, ya think ?

And all of this shit, every single word of it, is PROVEN FACT, admitted to, and at the time, in fact celebrated by the US FedGov when we did it.

And that is the SHORT version, just so you know.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TP-AJAX

Given the backlash we are choking on now due to this wild-cowboy STUPIDITY, and the fact that those agencies have never stopped or even slowed down with such activities - which would YOU consider the greater threat to our population at this point in time ?

Oh, yeah, not to mention their respect for the very people they are supposed to be protecting is clearly outlined in Operation NORTHWOODS, which they submitted to Kennedy, who rejected it in abject horror shortly before he was assassinated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwoods

NONE of these facts are in the slightest doubt.

Clear Enough ?
And no, that ain't the half of it.

Because prior to this the Islamic fanatics were pretty much everyday fellas (shorter beards, respected women, tolerant, loved Jews...)

That might be true, especially from the Soviet/Terrorist perspective. But you might try reading your textbooks front to back rather then by pasting the pages together randomly.

If its on the internet then it must be true.

I'm still not sure what your point is...except Govt/bad. Personally I think the real danger here is that apparently a little education can go a long way.

My POINT is, that we are experiencing the backlash of agency stupidity, hubris and backstabbing from way back in the 1950's even now - if we allow these yucks to continue with their insane, petty little games, we're condemning our children, and their children, even...

To the future of OUR failures, primary amongst which is not shutting off the floodgates of funding to assholes with a proven history of using it to stab us in the back at every turn and corner.

I also notice you have little refutation, since the agencies in question have admitted guilt in every single issue named above.

The reason I assume folks know what I am talkin about, Fletch - is that I do NOT want folk just takin my word for it, if they really wanna know, they can look it up for themselves and make their own assessment.

By not priming the discussion, as a general rule, it encourages folk who *want* to discuss it to do their own homework on it if they wish to discuss it intelligently.

So I do that for a reason, most of the time.
