Oh dear.

You've mentioned a few things that made me wonder if your seizures were adequately controlled. Even things like a hand jerking could be symptomatic. Just let your neuro know. Keep him/her updated every time something happens, otherwise they don't know what's going on. One option is to add another med but if I were your neuro Id do a sleeping EEG (can be done at home) and get a CAT scan. Both are relatively cheap.

Neuro has been told about the hand shaking and it is a side effect of the new med.

Hand shaking is one thing. Jerking is a different thing. Only you know which you have.

I am deciding whether or not to tell about this one. When I told him about the ones that have occurred here at home, he always asks for witnesses. I live alone. So, do I go into his office and tell him or not. I am as I said deciding on that.

Why would you not tell him? You have a witness!
It seems stupid that he would keep asking you for witnesses but I know why he does it. A lot can be determined from what happens in the first few moments. Do the eyes deviate? If so, to what side? Does the head turn? Does person make chewing motions, fumble purposelessly with their fingers? Do they go pale? Pupils widen? Or do they just go blank? All diagnostic.
Is there an easier way to get in touch with Dr? Over here they're very big on portals, where people can log in, see their test results ( and scare themselves to death), message doctors, request refills, pay bills etc. Also, they like telemed a lot, scheduled appointments by video app. But that's no good if Dr needs to do an exam.

It is shaking and as I have said before it is not all the time.

SIG, I do know why he asks for witnesses. Yes, there are ways to contact docs up here on the computer but with this thing I can't do any of that. No apps like that on this computer.

I know I should make an appointment to go in but this comes down to me hating me poked and prodded at. Will decide. But the lady who saw me said I had just stopped.

If your seziures start as focal, they sure generalize awfully fast.

You posted that your hand jerked when you were typing so I assumed that's what the problem was.

I know what you mean about too many Dr appts. I've been referred to orthopedic surgery for tumors (probably benign) found in my leg ... I'll probably go to that one .... but also for bunion and skin conditions that I'm going to skip. Still, I think you need to keep your neuro informed.

My hand jerks on the computer when I have a small seizure but when I am using the mouse or sometimes if my left hand is still, they will shake. Sometimes when I am writing too, so I have to really concentrate at times. Like in the bank.

I understand now. But this computer doesn't have a camera so, I can't use zoom. I can do telephone but I prefer in person doc appointments. Just me and the neurologist's office is only a bus ride away and not a far walk from the local hospital.

Having tumors removed in my opinion is a good thing. I often wonder if I should get my feet checked for bunions because down the right side of my right foot I can feel something every so often. Don't know about that either.

I will see what next week brings. Fair number of things to do and I've been rearranging them in my head.

Nope it didn't got rained on going there. Least I was in through 2 heavy rains while I was there. One was bad the light over the dining room table was flickering. Dry on my walk back.

I get there at 9:30 and as per usual she wasn't totally organized. I was downstairs getting something and she was pulling glass jars with spices in them to take upstairs. She rushed around the corner to answer me and dropped one of them. Shattered of course. The really weird thing today was raisins and cran-raisins into, wait for it: Cornbread. How is that for yuck!

My supper was what was left of my lunch sandwich.

Hey, IDK what happened but my kidney function is the best it's been in three years, my sed rate is finally normal, and my cancer marker - altho a tad above what they consider to be normal - is lower (better) than before.

Maybe the med is working?

I'll believe it if it's the same next blood test.

Now all I gotta do is figure out how to fix my knees and my cholesterol.

Got back a while. Forgot a couple of things that I can do tomorrow after mah jong and lunch.

Also oh squee, everyone in the building is being asked about a parking spot in the underground. In some ways the new management is starting up new files. Useless exercise if you ask me. All they are going to find out is I have car, any one who comes and sees me parks out front for a bit. My boss usually drops me at the garage when I have to come back in the dark. I also go and meet people. People also walk to see me and sometimes my boss comes over on her bike. And that is all folks.

If there are enough parking spaces for everyone, maybe you'll get one anyway. Would be nice for visitors, or if someone delivers something by vehicle.

Maintenance man who was helping told me that there aren't enough spots, so it first come first serve. There is limited visitors parking, so if someone wanted to come and see me for an hour or so that would be fine. But if something were to happen to me and they needed to stay overnight, I would have to get a pass or them or they would be towed. Too much noise in the office from the manager talking to someone else. Lip reading to the rescue but I did say what a couple of times.

I guess I'm not the only one that that happens to.

It seems to me my "get up and go“ got up and went. Again. I think part of the problem is my knees, which got very suddenly very bad a couple of months ago. And not just knees but insteps, shoulders, base of thumbs ... all of the places arthritis can affect. I used to do an exercise standing up from, and sitting back down on a chair, 20X twice a day to exercise my thigh muscles, as well as 45 degree pushups. My knees and shoulders can't tolerate that anymore. All I can manage is VERY partial 6“ 'squats’, and I dread walking the dog.

Also, I accompany every Dr visit and medical test. In May that meant 14 visits including Ortho for hubby's hand and cardiac ablation, a zillion (it seems) tests for me. The previous month was 7, the month before that was 10
That takes a chunk out of every month! It feels overwhelming. But fortunately that all throttles back to about 1-2 per month for the foreseeable future. Maybe I can recoup some energy there.
Whew!

Well, I have to say that was one unpleasant dog walk! The past couple of days it was 90-ish, but at least it was sunny, breezy, and dry. Today, still 90-ish, but cloudy, humid, and sticky!

Yanno, like your summer weather, SIX.

Bleh!

Had to cool off in front of a fan and wound up taking an unanticipated nap.

Well, back to work! I was going to do some weeding today but it didn't cool down like predicted, and the breeze will just blow dust around. So I'll probably sweep the driveway instead.

Nope, it happens to me every once in a while.

Oh yeah. Been there, done that and got the t-shirt about get up and go, just plain
going.

Last Friday was fun walking down nine flights of stairs not. About half way down my left knee decided it didn't like it. Had to stop for a bit before I continued. Luckily the elevators were back on line when I got back from my errands.

I just have one test this month and that is a mammogram on Friday. Then I should be clear until September.

Out to see the neurologist and tell his office what happened. Then a couple of other things to do.

Also asked pharmacy why I have to at times keep going back for the rest of my seizure meds. Answer they don't keep enough of them on hand because not many people who take them use that pharmacy.

Levetiracetam? That's SUCH a common med! What would it cost them to maintain an inventory of 3000 pills? Stupid pharmacy!

Well, that is what she told me. They keep more thyroid and blood pressure meds in stock than seizure meds. Either one I take.

Will they dispense 3 months at a time? Maybe you wouldn't have to go back so often.

3 month refills are common around here. In fact, I have to ask SPECIFICALLY for one-month quants, that way my family refill list is the same every month.

I could get 3 months for I think one of my seizure meds but I don't think it would work out to well.

Maybe your luck changes today.

FWIW I generally don't like games of luck. Too frustrating!

*****
Yesterday we had a surprise thundershower. It didn't last more thsn 5 minutes ... it was a fast-moving storm that came from ... SURPRISE! ... the northeast!

At least it washed the dust off the plants, solar panels and everything.

Nope luck still is crappy. Managed a couple of good hands but still couldn't win.
I think that's why I like to play. See if I can beat the devil.

In case you are wondering that's something my dad would say when he was playing solitaire. You ask him, who he was playing against and he would say the devil or who he was trying to beat.

Oh, yay! on the rain. We are only getting dribbles here and across the Prairies.
