Hello,

This article on CNN, an interview with the Abu Ghraib base commander, is illuminating.

If Obama's policy is NOT to prosecute the torturers themselves, then he should also pardon these torturers. They were just following orders, like everyone else he's not prosecuting.

If Obama's policy is to prosecute the givers of orders, then he has memos showing who gave them, and should bring them up on charges.

If Obama wants to forget this whole mess, he can do nothing and hope that we all forget, also.

Obama has a unique opportunity to solidly define his position on these issues. Whatever he believes in, whatever his policy, he can take an action to support it.

I will wait with interest to see what happens next.
