If a man tells you he is going to kill your family how much more evidence do you need.

Hello,

More than you think. I was in this exact situation. If the man in question hadn't actually taken a shot at my wife, nothing would have happened to him. Even so, it still took several weeks for the perpetrator to be kept behind bars.

Quote:

If the police search a place illegaly but find evidence that can stop a serial killer justice is not done by not allowing such evidence in a court of law. Now I would agree that police may need to be punished to breaking the law in the first place, but to now ignore the evidence as if it does not exists serves in that case only to protect the guilty.

You are wrong. If the system gets any boon whatsoever in conducting illegal proceedings, they have a motivation to do so in the future. It protects all of us when they are prevented from getting a conviction based on such tainted evidence.

This a hard point to make with people who don't see it that way Anthony. I agree 100% with your assessments here, but the people on the other side of this issue are the same people that say "I'm not doing anything wrong, why should I care if somebody comes into my house". In my experience, it's EXTREMELY hard to change somebodies mind on this issue.

They'll continue to say that all the way until the day we find junk food banned constitutionally and they get hauled off to prison because the government owns copies of our house keys and can come and go as they please to search through our stuff and find the hidden stash of contraband Twinkies in a footlocker in the basement (which the government will also have duplicate keys for).
