"Hands behind your head and on your knees" Ordered the gruff voice I heard as I came to. I began ta move to comply, but heard the lady and another voice say "Stay still Private!" I lay still and waited. I finally got my eyes open and saw an Alliance trooper with his rifle trained on us. I looked around and saw others as well before the pain came back! I let out a whimper and that brought the trooper and his rifles attention to me. Oh My God! He's gonna kill me! He then lowered his rifle and spoke into a com unit "We've got a few over here. We need a med team, some are seriously wounded." "Those of you that can, get up and walk toward the transport." he ordered. As my lady friend got up I asked "Please.....your name?" She replied "Not now, I'll find you later." I watched as she got up and moved over with the rest of them....Prisioners! Was this how it was gonna end! All of us as prisioners, rumors had it the Alliance would shoot all of us as traitors! Oh well at least it would end the pain! I closed my eyes and screamed out in that gorram pain! I willed myself not ta pass out this time. I had ta see what was happening ta my fellow soldiers. They loaded the ones who could walk on a transport and took off. A second transport landed and the med techs came over. "This one has a badly infected belly wound." One said as he knelt down and looked me over. I'm gonna give you an IV for fluids and antibiotics." he said as he readied his equipment. "You're not gonna kill me?" I croaked out at him. "Heavens No Private! I may be Alliance, but I'm a doctor first." He smiled and patted my arm. "You just rest. I promise no harm will come to you now!" I started ta ask about the other soldiers, "Hush! We'll have time for questions later!" Sneaky gorram bastard musta put a sllepin med in the IV, couse in a few moments I was out!...............I awoke this time with no pain, in a proper bed and room. Hospital somewhere, probably military, Alliance of course. Well I was alive and bandaged up, not shackeled that was good! The door opened and a bubbly nurse came in. "Hi there hon!" she said as she checked the monitors and tubes. "Glad you are still with us! We've been kinda worried about you! You just lay back and relax, I'll let your doctor know that you're awake now!" She smiled and left the room. I leaned back in the comfy bed and wondered what next! The war was over ...and we lost! But right now my first priority was ta get better!
