I dont know if I would say 'Shithole Countries' but this quote about keeping people out who want to see the USA fall makes sense

for example East Germany was supposed to be ok-ish even if it was a political rival of the USA, it got stuff done and trains ran on time or so I hear...maybe it wasnt a 'Shithole'

and allegedly Cuba before current sanctions had ok health care, which is why US tourists would go there and get a cheap visit to a doctor or dentist
