Getting a lot of gun battle feed online, youtube, twitter, pharses like 'Saudi Arabia Coup', report of shots explosion, grenade sounds in vids etc I lot of people have something to pick with those Saudi human rights abusers, the Turks don't like them or trust them, Iran seems to hate them, Europe and the USA buy their oil but intelligence and cops probably hate them and blame them for radical islamic terrorism, Iran the other flavor of islam hates them and that's not even starting to talk about Yemen or other place. There was a big purge back in late 2017 and multiple arrests Saudi crown prince's bloody purge? | one thread on reddit asked whats with all the gunshots, other commenst on facebook etc ... if I see anymore I will post here

Officials claim it was only guards shooting down a drone that flew too close to the King Salman's residence

Numerous videos have been published online of heavy gunfire from Rihayd

A Saudi official confirmed on a state news agency that a drone had been shot down after footage was posted online of the gunshorts.

A spokesman for the Riyadh police said forces at a checkpoint in the Khozama district identified the drone and 'dealt with it according to their orders', state news said without specifying if there were any injuries or damage.

Some sort of counter-coup has been predicted even since MBS (Mohammed bin Salman) took over the Saudi government and disrupted the delicate balance of power between the various "lines" of the Saudi Royal Family. Don't forget that MBS killed a few of the royals and locked the rest up in a fancy hotel prison, torturing chief members until they coughed up some of their ill-gotten billions. ALSO, the Displaced Ones were part of the broad-ranging CIA-friendly cabal that Trump has been getting rid of around the world.

So yes, there was certainly a counter coup of some sort; I doubt that it was just shooting down a stray drone. I haven't had time to follow this event, but I would be looking for evidence whether MBS is alive or dead. These people mean business; it's like Game of Thrones over there.

Confirmed: Coup Attempt In Saudi Arabia, Western Media Buries

iyadh — Last night, the area surrounding the royal palace in the capitol of Saudi Arabia was riddled with gunfire, as a suspected coup took place.

Western media has brushed off the event, repeating the official story handed to them from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. According to the King and many news outlets, there was no coup attempt, but rather a toy drone was shot down over the palace.

Many on the ground in Saudi Arabia aren’t buying that story, and several eyewitnesses have confirmed that there was a coup attempt against the King and his Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman.

Here are some of the confirmations from direct eyewitnesses that the event was not a mere drone

There may be an accidental drone or part of the area’s footage to help the attackers, but the shooting has nothing to do with it,” said another eyewitness with over 2 million Twitter followers. “It was an exchange of fire from two sides that took almost a whole hour.”

So .... It's still not clear to me whether MBS is alive and hiding, dead, or wounded.

Look at the timing of this event: It occurred just as Salman was returning from his "charm offensive" in France and the USA, when security is likely to be in transition.

Also, I noticed that the "official" announcement after ... whatever it was ... didn't come from the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (Mohammed son of Salman) but from the royal dad, King Salman bin Abdulaziz (Salman son of Abdulaziz).

And since it is widely said that King Salman suffers from advanced dementia, it's unlikely that Salman announced anything himself, but rather the announcement came from that branch/faction of the royal family.

In the meantime, MBS has not appeared in public personally, but - like his dad- "announcements" were made concerning a second wave of crackdowns.

This wouldn't make any difference to USA politics except that MBS was a Trump ally against the deep state in Saudi Arabia, which included some of the wealthiest royals who were tied to the Bush and Clinton families (and who donated heavily to the Clinton campaign and to the Clinton Foundation while it looked like Hillary was about to ascend the throne.) So the death of MBS would be a setback for the Trump anti-deep state campaign, as well as the "modernization" campaign that MBS is embarked on.

There are a few things I can gather from the reportage of this event:

1) Given that MBS seems to be personally invisible at a time when his continued leadership would be vital for the coup that he engineered, this was not "just a stray drone" shot out of the sky that caused MBS to go dark!

2) The mainstream press seems unwilling to pursue this story further, despite its interesting and fairly obvious implications. The MSM's unquestioning transmission of the drone story is itself interesting.

3) Just because MBS is against the globalist faction of the deep state doesn't make him- or Trump- a nice guy. MBS is still maintaining a humanitarian crisis ("worst in the world") in Yemen, and is still committed to regime change in Syria and Iran, and Trump is willing to let/ fund/ arm Saudi Arabia for regime change in Syria, as long as it doesn't involve embedded CIA/ State Dept deep staters.

So I will continue to scan for any indication that MBS is still alive.

Well apparently bin Salman gave an interview with "US News" claiming that he's booted out Iranian influence in Yemen, Africa and taken control of Nigerian oil.

Quote:

Bin Salman: We break Iran's power in Africa / Saudi Arabia behind Zaria massacre in Nigeria

An announcement on the announcement of Saudi Arabia's president Mohammed bin Salman has continued to say that his country has succeeded in defeating the Iranian nation and its neighbors in Africa.

In an interview with the US Times newspaper with Saudi Arabia's prime minister, Mohammed bin Salman said his country had taken control of the continent in order to reduce Iran's influence on the continent, so far as to defeat the power of the country. Iran in Africa with around 95 percent.

Muhammad Bin Salman said his country was the cause of the abduction of Ibrahim al-Zakzaky's power in Nigeria.

Dr Zayeed Al-Amri, a member of the Saudi Arabia National Strategic Planning and Development Agency, briefly commented on the policy of the governor, saying that "what the prince meant here is since he announced his plans to attack the enemy. Saudi Arabia has successfully assassinated Iran in Yemen, Somalia, Djibouti and Sudan as it has shattered its attempt to establish the Hezbollah in Nigeria and prevent Ibrahim Zakzaky as a coup in the country.

So, alive and well and performing Trump's anti-Iran policy in Africa.

It seems to me that after that interview, MbS went kind of dark. Very dark. Before, he was really visible, not one to shun the limelight.

So I guess I'm not the only one to wonder ...

Saudis Release Photo Of Crown Prince To Deny Rumors Of His Death

As wild speculation and questions abounded early this week over the whereabouts and status of Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) — with some going so far as to suggest he was assassinated during a palace shootout a month ago — Saudi Arabia tried to clamp down on the rumors by releasing an awkward photo of the crown prince socializing with other heads of state, including President Sisi of Egypt, at a swimming pool while wearing a baseball cap pulled low over his eyes.

The prior ball cap photo in which half of bin Salman's face was obscured only served to fuel more rumors and conspiracies about his fate, prompting a lengthy article in the Spectator chronicling the theories and examining the photo, which was deemed "impossible to verify" and "a strange way to convince the world MBS is fighting fit."
