Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I was thinking today about the continent of Antarctica. I've periodically read reports about how the ice is melting off the continent for the first time in ages. It got me wondering what archaeological discoveries we might make in Antarctica now that new territory is being exposed. Was Antarctica always where it is now? Did ancient animals or humans once live on its surface? Could there be a forgotten culture that built structures there, waiting to be discovered beneath the ice?

Does anyone know? I'm utterly ignorant of the topic.
