It's been five years since The Signal went out, but life goes on in the 'Verse. The Core planets are as stifling as ever, which is probably why you decided to high-tail it out to the Rim worlds, ain't it? Sure, it's pretty lawless out there, and you gotta keep your eyes out for them Reavers - and Reavers DO exist, I tell you what - but anything's gotta be better than living under the thumb of the Alliance.

This is the life you'll lead on The Cortex. Not to be confused with the constant hum of data that fills the 'Verse, The Cortex is an online Firefly roleplaying server set five years after the events of Serenity. You can be whatever you like; a pilot, a gunslinger, or even a plain jane citizen if you really want that. The game's unique trait-based RPG system will accommodate whatever character you could possibly dream up. And all you have to do to become the baddest son-of-a-gun in the Black is role-play. Make a story. Live with your crew. Survive. The longer your story goes, the stronger you'll all be.

Gosh, I have a character I'd love to sign up someday. I even made her with the RP manual, so she's not of the impossible skills and she's inspired by an underrepresented western element of the show.

I also have a friend of mine who plays, and he's been looking for people who'll let his flirty pilot character stretch his wings. But, he might not have internet much longer because of unemployment issues, and me, I've actually had to quit some RPs because I no longer had time for them.

Maybe if something changes though. Good luck. :)
