"After the Earth was used up, we found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terraformed and colonized. The Central Planets formed the Alliance and decided all the planets had to join under their rule.

There was some disagreement on that point.

After the war, many of the Independents who had fought and lost, drifted to the edges of the system far from Alliance control. Out here, people struggle to get by with the most basic technologies. A ship would bring you work. A gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: Find a crew, find a job. Keep flying."

Welcome to FireflyMUX! When "Firefly" first aired in 2002, Joss Whedon painted a gritty, realistic sci-fi world based in the 26th century - a rich, colourful and diverse civilization five hundred years in the future where cultures collide and blend seamlessly. With the intriguing genre of "space western" tied to its name, it brings up combined images of spaceships and horses, high technology and the old frontier, corrupt government and gunfights. Then, when "Serenity" hit the big screen this fall, we were given more insight, more adventure, and more danger. But overall, it's all about people ... their freedom and survival, their very human triumphs and losses. Today, this world provides us with a unique opportunity for roleplay. It provides us with FireflyMUX.

Incorporating all of the canon elements from the very beginning of "Firefly" to the end of the feature film "Serenity", FireflyMUX is set shortly after the events of the film occurred. From this point on, it's all new! We aim for a strong backbone of that canon flavour we know and love. FireflyMUX is a realistic roleplay reflection of the "Firefly" theme as created by the one and only Joss Whedon; as such, we strive to fit into his vision as best we can. Of course, there's plenty of room for originality - it's a big universe!

You may remember us from several months ago - well, we're back! As of October 10th, our doors will be open and we'll be accepting applications! We've revised our theme to incluce Serenity as canon and we're picking up shortly after its events. We have lots of fun stuff in store and don't plan on slowing down any time soon, so check us out - whether you're returning players or it's your first time!
