According to Second, this is all because the movie was leaked for illegal free download on day 28. Because not only was Brie Larson the first female action lead in a movie ever with Captain Marvel in 2019, but nobody was able to download movies illegally for free until Wednesday, December 6th.

Normally, this is where I'd mention that usually projections, especially on opening weekend, are lower than reality because the studio doesn't want to embarrass themselves, but I'm not sure about what Disney's psychology on this one is going to be right now.

Risk lowballing the numbers on opening night as per usual and make all the Saturday headlines even worse than they were going to be, or risk highballing the Friday prediction and possibly project low for Sunday to still come in lower than the actual numbers that are posted on Monday?

My money is that Disney's projected numbers for Friday are actually higher than reality just because the headlines that are going to come out today are embarrassing enough already. They might throw out convention entirely here and highball the whole damn weekend just to try to salvage some of the headlines with their shill outfits like Variety and Deadline and hope that not too many people are listening to the people like me who would catch them in the act come Monday if they try that.

Am I awesome or am I awesome?

The Marvels ACTUAL weekend gross Domestic: $46,110,859

In the entire time that I've been tracking movies, I've NEVER seen a studio highball their weekend prediction. Not once. Until now. And I called it.

In fact, I've said on at least half a dozen occasions when posting about a new movie that just came out that it will probably have $1 or $2 Million more when the actual numbers come in (It's all in my post history).

I'm in Bob Iger's head now.

The ragebaiters on YouTube all seemed to have missed this, but I didn't Bob. I'm calling you out.

I think 'Bob' won't be CEO for much longer.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Why Kathleen Kennedy is still employed at Disney, let alone any job that requires more responsibility than bringing shopping carts back into a store is a mystery for the ages.

That's not what woke means.

In fact, you can go back through the 50 posts on this very thread and you'll see that I never once claimed the original Hunger Games or even its prequel was woke.

And none of the Hunger Games actors (unlike Sound of Freedom) have declared their loyalty to Trump so it is "woke".

That's definitely not what woke means.

Here's a good example of what Woke means...

There's a reason why characters like Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley, The Bride and even Katniss Everdeen are beloved characters from movies that starred a powerful female long before any of this new crap came out. And if the above video doesn't explain it perfectly to you than there is no hope for you ever figuring it out.

Looks like The Marvels might have already been taken out of theaters quietly. Bruce doesn't have any new Domestic figures for it since January 4th.

Worldwide Gross is currently $199,803,716 on a $274.8 Million budget.

That means it's lost $487,696,284 for Disney, minus whatever international numbers still come in.

That also means that it is by far Disney's biggest loser for 2023. That previous record was held by Indiana Jones 5, which lost Disney $368,438,024,

With $209,381,383 Worldwide for Wish, that movie looks like a downright success compared to those two, losing Disney only $290,618,617.
